TVR Griffith 500, Lancia Delta S4 and Pug 205 T16 Evo II. Which are all such supreme undualiting overkill that it is scary to even think of entering them in that race.

The best overall is the Chapparal 2J Race Car, but for the Europe Little Car Cup (or whatever the championship is called), a Lancia Delta is a good choice.

It really depends what you need it for, I might make a list of 4000mm and shorter cars, I've seen a few ask this question around the forums :)

Of the 169 cars that qualify for the World Compact Car Race, here would be my top five picks:
  1. Best Performing (race car)___: 1970 Toyota 7 Race Car
  2. Best Performing (concept car): 2001 Suzuki GSX-R/4
  3. Best Performing (road car)___: 1967 Shelby Cobra 427
  4. Best Performing (value)______: 2002 TVR___ Tamora ($20,555)
  5. Best Performing (prize car)__: 1985 Lancia Delta S4 Rally Car
However, when you consider the competition you'll face in this race, all of these cars, as well as dozens of other qualifying cars will be absolute overkill!

My personal recommendation is to use the 1964 Ginetta G4, Not only does it qualify and should easily win this race, but it also qualifies for MANY other races with specific restrictions like:
  • British GT Series
  • British Lightweight Series
  • Light-weight K-Car Cup
  • Europe Classic Car League
  • World Classic Car Series
  • 1000 Miles!
  • FR Challenge
  • Race of NA Sports
You can easily win this car with a Light-weight K-Car Cup victory due to the poor level of competition in that race. The handling characteristics of the Ginetta do take some getting used to, but by learning how to properly drive it, it should considerably improve your overall driving skills, so that's another nice bonus! 👍

My personal favorite in this category is the Suzuki GSX-R/4. I have taken that car to Laguna Seca and won with it. When it's suped up it can smoke the best of them.

The most fun to drive is the Spoon S2000... by far...

While it's not the best car, a fun and speedy car to drive is the Renault Clio, the MR one with 260~ bhp. (I forgot the exact name.) If you're looking for an easy win in that compact cup, pick this car. It's more fun if you have another Clio that you have to overtake. I also think it performs better than most BMWs, except when it comes to high speed braking and turning.

Tip: Never brake and turn at high speeds with a Clio.

*try to get the mitsubishi CZ3 tarmac....nice too....very nimble...and if tuned for fun can be quite good beginner drift-car....(since it was 4wd car)

Try and buy an AC Cobra, it's less than 4000mm, has some awesome power (more that literally all the cars you'll be against), has decent braking and acceleration. However, it handles rather poorly and is rather expensive at 423k.

Sorry to tell you man but the OP was over 3 years ago and the last post was over a year ago. Don't worry I've been in this situation before...just check the date on the OP(Opening Post) or the last message to see how long ago it was. I've you've got relevant info that hasn't already been posted it should be alright to revive the thread, just tell everyone you are doing so (write *BUMP* or something similar). If not, Don't bring back the thread. People around here don't like it because it takes the decent threads off the front page therefore making them go looking for them.

Cheers, Cougar23

...not to mention it provides zero challenge as you bake race after race bored out of your mind. If you wanna overkill these races, it's a heck of a lot cheaper to buy a Miata. Personally, I'd rather do them in a Honda Fit or an Alto Works. At least I'd be participating in the race.

Oh, happy festivus, and welcome to GTP. :boggled:
