Here in the city of Wichita Kansas, High School football is a major part of the community. I am a member of my high school football team the Wichita Heights Falcons (not varsity yet) but on Friday we had our varsity season opener at home against a team we have never beaten in our schools history- the Wichita Southeast High Buffaloes. All summer long our team has been working extremely hard to get to this game. Friday night was magical as always. With loads of people from both schools there was tons of emotion. We (Heights) ended up scoring 2 touchdowns for 14 points and Southeast scoring 1 and converting for 2 points scoring 8. At the end of the game the whole place went nuts. Everyone rushed the field in celebration. There were tears from alot of people as this was a very important game to them. Ill admit i welled up a bit. I just thought id tell you guys because i thought it was cool that we beat a team for the first time in 40 years.
