Damn ... my shot is also in the tunnel  but the location and the angle are very different :)

Nice try for the corner blur but it's too blurry and lines don't stand out. Maybe the focus point isn't right. The other thing is the door lines look kinda odd (too sharp and pixalated), maybe adjustment filters destroyed them?? I found out doing cleanup after finishing all the adjustments got better result. You should try that sometimes. Anyway, the idea behind this picture is awesome. Like Div said, it can be a masterpiece

WOW! I guess great minds for Photomode think alike!:)

And yeah, I am going to try the corner blur thing again. I have another set of shots to try it with, along with a slightly different angle. I know of a couple things to do differnt this time too, so I let you see how it turns out.👍

I took a que from franz and made this tunnel blur shot. It's definetely not perfect, (hence the reason there is no full size photo) but I am getting better. Does anyone know if there is a corner blur tutorial on the web anywhere like the ones franz and Rev have been doing? I am kind of doing this how I have heard it to be done, so I have'nt been taught properly yet. I guess it's best to teach yourself sometimes, but I would like to see how its properly done. So here it is:

TANK CAR TUNNEL BLUR @ DEEP FOREST

Man, you need to update the title, that is amazing.
The front of the car looks a bit dull, but other than that it's awesome.

Here is another one. Somehow, the car got off and my blur got messed up a bit, so you can see streams off of the car. My Photoshop seems to be messing up with keeping things lined up lately. I wonder if it has anything to do with adding adjustment layers and than selecting things with them turned on? Oh well, it's frustrating.

Looking good 440 👍
this time is so much better
I'd be adding the headlights to intensify the shot

Speaking on corner blur, I think I had that in my gallery somewhere
but I didn't mention some crucial techniques that involved
here is my tips for you:
1. Use a bigger canvas before bluring (leave a bunch of transparent space around the image)
2. Transform the background before bluring. It depends on the location of your camera. Close to the ground -> stretch vertically. Far from the ground -> stretch horizontally.

This part I have to credit Revo. Revo found out that the radial blur in Paint Shop Pro had the twirl option. I have to thank him as well because it saves so much time and effort. Why? Because that filter allows you to set the center point the the blur over the image you have, also it has a preview to see the result. Compare to Photoshop, it only gives you a virtual canvas and you have to redo 100 times to get the position right. The twirl option in Paint shop pro is very nice as well. You can take your time to adjust the twirl angle to make sure all the lines are blurred following the twirl path. Even you have a difficult image to work on, you still can duplicate the layer couple times and use different center points for each layer to get everything right. Once you are done and transform it back to original dimension. However, stretching image is not necessary for paint shop pro, but you can test around and see the difference. After you finish the blur, dulplicate it 20+ times and merge them. That will recover those semi-transparent edges. It may look a bit weird at first, but after you cover it up with your car layer, it will look flawless. Maybe you know that already, but it seems Div still don't know that yet

I duplicate my blur layers.

I don't have PSP so I can't use that twirl option.

I have a filter named Twirl but it's a nightmare to use.

Nice tips Franz, I haven't messed with my Paint Shop Pro in so long. I just now opened it up and its blur filers and distortion offer some nice alternatives. If only I can get the hang of it.

Sorry Div ... good to know you duplicate the blur layers 👍
if you have no access to PSP, that PS twirl filter is really a mess
you can try to move the image around and have your desire center point located at the center point of the canvas, so that the twirl filter will twirl at the right place. But it is so time consuming when you have a slow computer, because the canvas is so big and takes too long to apply the filter. I think I said that before :D

However, there is a limitation of doing corner blur with PSP. Not every corner can be blurred easily. It depends on the shape of the corner. If the close area is less curvy than far area, that can be easily done, but if the close area is more curvy than far area, it will be very difficult. Because the blur amount will be just opposite to what it supposed to be (close area too slow, far area too fast, that doesn't make sense). It is also hard to do in photoshop, so you guys should stay away from this situation unless you are going to make it very subtle.

Is Paint Shop Pro free? That kind of explains why I am having such a tough time getting the twirl blur to work... I am using Photoshop! I had no idea you were using a different program to do some of your blurring. I will have to check it out.

And thanks for the tips. I have just completeled another one, of the same angle you did your Tourney Entry with your Pagani. It still does not look as good as yours, but I think it looks ok. I blurred many parts of it seperately. I think I have 6 different parts that I individually twirled and radial blurred, than twirled back and duplicated several times until it was seamless. It looks pretty good. I will post it up soon.

First, let me say, props to franz for that awesome Pagani shot that is kicking my butt in the finals in treefingers PD Tourney. This shot is taken strait from franz's shot, and was totaly inspired by it. As were most many of my tank car shots.

TANK CAR @ DEEP FOREST

Too much work... I have a larger version if you want.

 WOW! That tank car is great! It makes me think how lucky I am to be in the PMC section of the PD GT4 Tournament and not the 2.0. There is no WAY I could beat that!

No it's not free, but way way cheaper than photoshop
I heard version 9 is better than version 10
since version 10 is done by corel not Jasc
so mine is version 9
I am still learning how to use it ... so different from photoshop :dopey:

edit> Holy Shiz .... that's awesome 440
you did really great this time
Very Very beautiful ... and you learned everything from my shot 👍
that headlights really helping to glorify the shot
I actually did gradient mapping over the background
and mines have higher explosure level over the tunnel lights I think
and I use a separate gradient mapping for colour change on the Zonda
in the beginning I want to make a blue Zonda
but red Zonda works better on the orange tunnel
on the other hand, silver car is beautiful but not in all situation
but your tank car looks quite good in your tunnel shot 👍

Very nice work again 440.👍 Did you ever get done reworking the subaru shot from the back in the tunnel. I'm actually using your tourney pic as my wallpaper, but I really like that rear end shot better.

Nice Pictures there 440, and those step are compression artifacts, rather annoying to try get rid of, sometimes there can't be gotten rid of..

This shot blurred up nealy perfectly! The white line at the bottom could be a little more crisp, but it looks good. I had to decrease the quality on the full size to get image shack to take it, so if it looks a little less clean....
