620 Million lose power in India. Worlds largest blackout.

You use the TV and 360 even when the power's down?

Yes because he connects it to his generator.

Whats supprised me most in the news reports about this was the stuck miners. Why on earth did the mine not have generators at least to get people out in an emergency.

I always thought mines were run by generators in the first place.

Because the mine is in India, that's why.

This sort of thing is the future of warfare in my opinion. No, really, look up Stuxnet and what it did to the nuclear power plant in Natanz, Iran. How it was designed and propagated was the most interesting part, how it worked was pretty fascinating but gaining access to a facility that's 'off the grid' isn't easy, yet whoever made Stuxnet managed it.

But imagine, if a country was able to hack a power station or maybe even the entire national grid of another country, that's a seriously powerful weapon.

We have power outages a couple times a year in our neighborhood especially when its windy. I have my mother in laws generator at my house at all times. First thing I hook up is the refrigerator. Next is usually the 360 and TV. When the power goes out it is indeed a huge pain to deal with. Especially in the winter. I cant imagine that many people trying to deal with a power outage like this.

I ran a cable underground from my panel box in the garage to the main box on my light pole in the back yard. Fire up the generator, plug into the panel in the garage and the whole house has power. Surges a bit under heavy load though so no PS3, just my PS2.
