As we all know, the 2022 Nike car has an 8-speed transmission, but cannot be used in any actual races. What many people probably don't realize, though, is that there is a car that you can use that can handle an 8-speed transmission.

What is this mechanical miracle, you ask? It's the Nissan SKYLINE SEDAN 350GT-8 2002. Fully tuned it gets an 8-speed tranny. If only it was a GT-R, though....

Well this is new to me... have to test it. Does this car have 8-speed manual tranny irl? Or is it somehow "better" (something like DSG or similar, where you don't use clutch)?

Somehow I personally would probably hate more than 6 -speed trannys irl. Thay mayby better with cars with narrow powerband, but constant gear changes take time too,,,

something like DSG or similar, where you don't use clutch

The DSG is a system that does not only use a clutch, but 2. Wiki-power:

Wikipedia
Essentially, the engine drives both clutch packs. The outer clutch pack drives gears 1, 3, and 5 (and reverse). The inner clutch pack drives gears 2, 4, and 6. Instead of a standard large dry clutch, each clutch pack is a collection of four small wet interleaved clutch plates. Due to space constraints, the two clutch assemblies are concentric. Because the alternate clutch pack's gearing can be pre-selected (predictive shifts taking place while the other section is in use), un-powered time while shifting is avoided because power is simply switched from one gearbox to the other.

My guess would be that the real car uses a CVT with 8 presets.
