80's SSR5 Challenge!

I've brought you all back here for more!if you liked the 450 HP Challenge,then here's one you'll like even more!okay,here's the rules ------

the place is Special Stage Route 5
the cars are ANY from the 80's!
if you don't know which ones those are,then look at the limited cars for the 80's Sports Cup ^_^!
you can tune your car up with a total of $68,000 CR,but ALL of it can't go straight to Turbo!that would be an easy way to win this,is to buy a Skyline and give it Stage 3 and smoke the whole competetion huh?well,ya can't do that...the max turbo you can get is Stage 2 or an N/A Tune up Stage 2.but you can use ANY tyres you want.
you can only get a stage 1 weight reduction (if you have the money) but as I said though...you can use ANY tyres ya want,but if you're goin' for Super Softs,then you'll only have $23,000 CR left,so would you really wanna do that?you car can't pass the 499 HP mark or it's disqualified..even if it gains 1 HP after you do a Free Run and it reaches 500,then it's out of the competition,but you can feel free to buy another 80's car and start again =D!

well,that's the rules..so there's no limit to spend on cars,just parts..and as long as they're from the 80's Sports Cup!oh yeah,if it comes down to it,to where you wanna change your oil to get HP and you know that it won't go over 499 HP if you do,and you've already spent your $68,000 CR,then you can do it anyways,along with a car wash.so anybody who's willing to take a shot at this,then please let me know which car you will be entering.I'm going to be entering a brand spankin' NEW Trueno !

68,000 is a unique number. Where did you come up with that figure, if I may ask?

Otherwise it sounds interesting.
This is for mods? Price of the car is open?
I think the little 2.0 liter Skyline may be interesting in this one.
It will restrict "BEAST" builders (myself included) to mediocre tires.
But since I build from the suspension side first anyway this could be cool...
Will update as able. Must work tommorow and the Kiddos are on Christmas Vacation. I may have to fight to get use of the PS2 on my days off. (I'll have 10 in a row after tomorrow.)

Must do research now and see what has the most potential. 😈

the $68,000 CR just sounded like the most unique number to pick for some odd reason.I didn't calculate anything up,it just came to me =D.but I thought about what number I picked for a second,then I was like,"hey,that actually makes pretty awsome sense...cool!",so that's how it came to be,hehe.oh,and yes,the $68,000 CR is for the mods,the prices of the car doesn't count =D.but anyways,if anybody has any questions about this competition,then please feel free to ask!

Let me start off by saying that I don't really think this car is an 80s model. I always thought the 2seater was the one from the 80s. But it is in the car list of cars allowed in the 80s sports car cup, so I used it.

The Fairlady is heavy and a little sluggish, but its my favorite of the bunch so I picked it. For the most part, it could hold its line through the corners, but it occasionally would slide out. Had to be careful at the left-right after the first tunnel. If I tried to take it fast, the car would begin to oversteer and I'd have to correct. Being a heavy car, it was a little more difficult to get the car back in line, but overall it was a fun drive. I think I did pretty good and would be interested in seeing how other people's times compare.

your choice of car to enter this competiton surprised me.I didn't think anybody would come in with that car,but I congradulate you =D.the times you will see shall be worth your challenge,and mine,along with everybody elses ^_^.the settings to you 300ZX are actually quite good.I've never driven that car before,but those settings fit that car for some odd reason.but,as soon as I beat the British GT Cup on my new game to get the Vanquish V12,then sell it to my other memory card,then I'll start on this competition as well.I was just waiting to recieve posts of times also..before I started.so,the best of luck to you all,and have a fun drive!

I'm in the 1:29's with my R32 GTR. I may have to rethink my set-up and mods to pull another 4 secs off.

Or I may have to actually try the 2.0 Skyline.

My Silvia isn't even in the hunt, though I got it down to 1:31.xxx
But I think that's the max for my skills.

well,I haven't actually started practicing for this competition yet,cause I've been playing Battle Gear 2 for my Japanese PS2,since it's ACTUALLY working now ^_^!so I've been tryin' to unlock courses and cars,but no luck so far..all I know is that I'm gettin' close,hehe.

actually,since I'm probably not going to compete in it,due to getting sooooo many insanely cool games for christmas,then,the person who has the fastest time by December 29th..wins!so get them times in!right now,I'm in the process of beating,Auto Modellista,Gran Turismo Concept 2002 Tokyo-Geneva,Legend of Legaia 2: Duel Saga,and DDRMax Dance Dance Revolution!so I really don't have time to compete..I'm sorry to disappoint some of you -_-..and I disappointed myself as well,cause I had bought that Trueno I was talkin' about,and it's my first RED one ever!*sighs* but...I'm hooked on these new games,so I don't think I'll be able to squeeze in a time to compete =P..sorry

is this 68,000 including the car? thats not fair, someone could start with a r32 gtr and that would cost twice as much as an s13 silvia and they wouldnt be penalized.

Also, you should put a hp limit, thats it. saying you cant do stage 3 turbo is dumb. a gtr with stage 3 turbo may make 400hp and waste everything else, but an s13 would make much less. if im limited to stage 2 its impossible to get over 300hp.

Anyway, using 68k including the car, i got a gts-t to 1:34.980, and an s13 to 1:35.402. Please clarify the rules and then i will try to improve my times.

No the 68k is for upgrades to the car only, the car's cost means nothing it just must be from the 80s

i know, thats why i say its dumb. the cost of the car has to mean something, because an s13 is obviously not equal to an r32 gtr. there would be no point to buy a lesser car for this challenge otherwise.

if you took it as an insult, than it was an insult. I did happen to read your post, thats how i knew the 68,00 was just for parts. go read my post again, sheesh.

there are prices for cars in gt3 for a reason. most cars that cost more ARE better. If you beat your friends with a worse car than them, that is because you are better than them. Or if it was with a less hp car, than it might be because it was lighter.

wait, you beat your friend in an escudo? wow he must BLOW. I have my escudo within a few seconds of my f1s on most tracks. at midfield i actually think my escudo might have the best time. would you like to challenge me with my escudo? hehe Ill let you use any non f1 car.

I would love to challenge your Escudo,and of course I wouldn't even think about using an F1 =P,they grip too much,bleh.but anyways,yup,I beat my friend's Escudo on Seattle Circuit II by half a second just cause he spun out once.but that was only HIS Escudo,but hey,who ever said I couldn't try for another,huh?by the way,if you haven't heard..I beat him with my AE86 Trueno (Shigeno Version) ^_^.which now has 380 HP,if you haven't heard that either =P,hehe.well,guess I'll go now...

But at first i called him no names. I said it wasnt a word. Then after a few of his "i know what im talking about because i bought a japanese book!" posts, i called him an idiot. You would think even someone that bought one of those miniature travel books would know that "nihon" means japan, and could narrow "nihongo" down to meaning japanese.

If you reread his post you will see his arrogant stance as the all holy japanese authority. It would be absurd for anyone to know more than him. And if someone does they are a japanese wannabe. Hes posted offending responses before so maybe i replied to get a rise out of him.
