Well, I'm back again and I'll stick around for a couple hours before going to bed. I couldn't keep up on the race on my car ride home from the party, my battery was nearly dead on both my phone and tablet. Also dammit, that Pink Pig Porsche is basically gonna win GTE at this pace. 3 laps ahead of the Rothmans and that's over 2 minutes ahead of the #68 Ford GT. :grumpy:

EDIT: Oh, shoot! I notice that the #7 Toyota TS050 is out; what happened?

#7 very much still going, just the timing screens fooling you probably. However, the #8 came within 2 seconds of the #7 not long ago, though the gap has crept back up between them again.

Alonso was able to get that what, 2 minute gap down to 50 seconds. Then Nakajima got it down to like 5 seconds. It has since then opened back up a little.

#38 having to be pushed to it's box in the pits. The Jackie Chan DC guys have very much had their fair share of bad look this year, what a difference 12months makes...

I just saw that.

What happened to the car that they had to push it down the pit lane?

Red sky at night, racer’s delight.
Red sky at morning, racers take warning

....this race could use a little rain from those clouds hanging out over head.

Impressedle

Not too sure to be honest. First guess would be that it'd ran out of fuel trying to get the most out of stint, but I would consider that unlikely. Haven't heard anything otherwise yet.

Edit: #31 Dragonspeed slow again.

That was my first impression too. Looked just like a car that ran out of fuel.

I just got home after some festive celebration. What happened to both the #81 and #82 BMW? Last I heard one of them were running in the top three.

Both with damper issues, with a replacement being needed on both cars, most recently the #81. Resulting in it dropping out of that battle for 2nd in Pro.

Thanks for the update Michelin Man! What a shame, I just checked the live timing and they're about 3 laps behind the lead #92 Porsche.

EDIT: On a side note, the GTE Pro is pretty competitive this year. At least 13 cars are within 3 laps off the leader.

I feel like there's going to be a twist coming. Don't know where, don't know who but I think it's going to be a pretty major one.

Hey, the grid of GTE seems to be shaping up again. The #63 Corvette is now in 5th place out of the GTE pro class and the #68 Ford GT is in 2nd! :D

For LMP1, I just hope Toyota doesn't push their TS050s too much since they're holding a huge lead.

'Tis a great shame for those BMW guys, they'd been having a cracking race to be fair to them, managed to stay relatively trouble free until those issues. Not bad for it's first LM24. Was rather rooting for a strong finish for them too.

Agreed! Before I went out I did catch Felix Da Costa going up the orders and racing against the Fords and Corvettes. They seem to have great pace but a lot of ground to make up still. Quite impressive for a brand new car. Happy still regardless and hoping for a better run this time around after a horrid running for them back in 2010 and 2011 with their M3 GT2.
