90s LeMans W.C./ Season 1 complete!

Had low tires, goes into pit, gets a free pass.
I did brake. And after I exited the pits, the option box to tell what tires and how much fuel decided to show up. Soooo

So basically the game bent you over and ruined your race. That sucks, I was hoping to see that other Vette up at the front.


I didn't get going very well at the start, and ended up getting ran over. Turn 1 was a bit hectic, but I think most of us made it through alive. Had a good battle with SilverSylphide for the first stint, but our pit strategies were a bit different so we got spread out and off sequence.

That was a fun track, but some of those corners were pretty scary. :scared:

Yea it didnt work out that well for me in the end lol. I put softs on on my last stint in hopes of catching you but i knew it wouldnt happen. Good race everyone though. GT1 should be givin a boost to keep the field a little separate. It's annoying when you pass a GT1 and then they just pass you back.

I was able to get ahead of silver for a lap, but my tires were used up and he was on his out lap. Oh well i still got 3rd in class.
 
I didn't have a problem pulling away from the GTS cars. I think it was this track, and that people didn't know it well enough. Or perhaps their cars. Just keep practicing, next round- the season opener at Laguna Seca will be favoring the GT1's. Less weight, and not very long straights will be all about acceleration and cornering speeds, the GT1's will be really good here.

I edited the 2nd post with the results and the best laps/gaps.

Good pics Seth even though I was only in a few. :lol: No problem I wasn't really up in any battles all race. Good third place in class for me. When will you have the points up?

For these types of races I wouldn't expect much action after the first pit stops. It's all about strategy and seeing if you can beat your opponent in the end.
 
I made a few mistakes which caused me some positions, but the race itself was a blast. Can't wait till the regular season starts.

So is this how the points will be done the entire season or will each class have its own standings for the regular season?

I didn't do class separation on the points because it was only preseason, plus it was half points as well. If you all agree that you want the points per class for the preseason race, I will change it though. Just let me know.

I'm fine with it either way, no preference. Leaving it the way it is may lead to better racing between classes though.

Ok thats fine by me. Would like to see class separation for the regular season though. Dont feel like GTS should be trying to race against GT1 otherwise there is no point in having 2 classes.
 
IRL there were two classes. That's why there's two classes here. The GTS cars are fast, but every track I have on the schedule I'm 1.5-2.5 seconds faster in ANY GT1 car than ANY GTS car. It's up to you guys in GT1 to get more out of your car than what the GTS guys are getting. I can give you a little tune I have for each of these cars. I think my tune for the F1GTR may be the one I spent the most time on. Even though I'm using the CLK. To tell you the truth, I was going to use the Nissan because I think it has a higher top speed, even at the same HP. Then the F1 has the weight advantage, so it really accelerates better than all these cars. Al these cars have their unique traits, I just took the CLK because I figured the other cars were a little faster (if you can get it out of them), so if they placed higher than me I'd suffer less of the ballast penalty ;)

Let me know if any of you need a tune for any of the GT1 cars, or any of the cars at all.

I am a proponent of inter-class battles. I like the combined points, but I would like a separate points system as well.
 
What happens to the podium finishers that got the ballast penalty after the next race? Does it get taken off? I'm confused by this.
 
The ballast stays on or gets added if you finish in the ballast penalty positions, it comes off when you finish outside those positions. If I win race 1, I get 25kg . I come in 2nd the next race I get 15kg MORE ballast. It stays on until I don't finish in the top 3. If I finish 4th or worse, PER CLASS (not overall), I'll have ALL the ballast removed. So the podium finishers get success ballast, and keep it for the next race. If they don't podium, their ballast is removed. I'll have a chart on the 3rd post to show who has what weight added and subtracted.

You had the 2nd fastest lap of the race! Tire wear is the key! Start on softs next time also ;) Did some testing tonight @Laguna... 1:17s seem to be the fast laps, but I dropped to the 1:16s with 3/4 tank on fresh tires. So that's the times to shoot for in qualifying guys.
