You have to put in exact precision on what you want on your track. It is an awesome idea. The name should be jordanring and it should have daan curve and the famine straight. Also since f1 insists on naming chicanes after senna, someone who is gone now, I think we should have the srrd chicane.

It amazes me that this isn't completely clear for some yet.
I was thinking Jordanoring flows nicely, though it'd end up being pronounced Jord-ano-ring (like "nano-ring"). Also... Indigoring sounds too good to pass up.
It really will come down to luck though if we vote on the "best" tracks, since we're just telling the game some rough parameters. Therefore I think any track bearing GTP's owner's name should probably be produced by him 👍
(EDIT) Someone who speaks Italian, does Strada del Pianeta translate properly into "Road of the Planet?"

I like the idea. I think we should create maybe 4 official GTP tracks. One oval, one straight, one point-to-point rally and one circuit.

Actually, I was thinking the track in the Eifel theme should be called Jordanring, because it would just fit so well. Other than that, I think the courses should have fairly realistic names (so no daan's LM), although we can name individual corners after mods and other significant forumers.

Why not open a thread where people can submit their tracks? They give the name, then other forum members, mods, and especially Jordan could all download the tracks, test them out and give their opinion on whether or not we should approve them.
And of course all the approved tracks would be in the first post.
Then from that thread we could also organize tournaments and challenges. (In the first post of course) Unless a separate thread works better for that.

I agree with Jordanring, given the amount of work he has put in to keep us all informed. Also the track should look exactly like this!
This is a great layout for the new track. It has long enough straight lines for faster cars to reach their max speeds while also maintaining some sharp turns for the skilled driver. 👍

I would like to see our official track to have a long straightaway, changes in elevation right before turns, off cambers going around sweepers, blind jumps, loads of high speed turns and at least 2 low speed turns and take about 2 5 min/lap.

Yea I think it would be a good idea but think of all the tracks that would be sent in. Jordan and the guys would have a hell of a time trying to sort through all the stuff and get it posted if they do decide to have a contest. The only way I think it would work if the contest had two voting systems. If so I think it should be more than one track that defines GT Planet members. If it does happen I think only 50 tracks or so a day or week to be sent in but the thing is Jordan and crew pick the people via GTP PM for their tracks. So its private and the people that are picked that week must keep it private or their track will be withdrawn. The tracks should be picked based on the design, difficulty and drivability. There should be a track format for each week, Road, City, Rally, and Oval. (First Voting System) At the start of the weekend the voting starts for the best track. At the end of the weekend at a time set by Jordan the voting will stop. The top 10 tracks for that weekend will be available for DL so they can be drove by us for the next week while the next format is voted on. (Second Voting System) At the end of the test week the tracks will be voted on again and the top five tracks will be added to the GT Planet Track list. Now as you can see it will take four weeks for the contest to end so it should give us ample time to test and vote. At the end of the contest the track should be tied in with exiting tracks in GT% for our racing divisions. From there we should have a new Championship format for GT Planet.
