a flagman:do we need him?

As drivers would get notifications of flags over the radio in a real race (in larger events anyway), I think flags on the 'HUD' are a good idea to help you in noticing them. So as you're probably going to have them on the HUD, they don't really need to put animated characters in the game waving flags. Of course, if they do...that's just a nice little bonus.

On the subject of skidmarks, I never noticed that they weren't there (and i've been a fan of the series since the 1st game) until I registered with this forum recently.

Fair enough. But they are still en every other racing game, and they're a nice touch.

I agree, I'd like to have them too but not at the expense of other stuff that I consider more important .

Yes we do. ALso at NASCAR events they have Whelen Lights that show you what condition it is, Yellow, Red, Green. Also At Pit lane they have a flagman and a Whelen Light and if the pits are closed, they hold a red and a yellow striped flag. That would be a essential. Skid Marks, only if they are visible the WHOLE RACE.

I don't really know if it would work, but what if the PS3 saved all the new skidmarks every lap to the HDD. That way, the RAM wouldn't have to keep up with it, and it skid marks could be saved for later races, so you could see a nice long streak and think to yourself, "oh that was where I totaled my RX7"

Yeah flagmen would be cool too. I wonder if you can rage at them if they make a silly decision.

On the topic of skidmarks again. I like the idea, But I don't want the game to focus too hard on them. I don't mind if they vanish after a couple of laps, nor if they affect grip levels. After all, if you want to look at the ground for the whole time playing the game, you're kinda missing the point.

Why do we need skidmarks? I've never really noticed that GT never had skidmarks, and frankly never cared.

Real cars have skid marks, GT simulates real cars, GT needs skid marks, whether you care for them or not..

As for flagmen, we don't need them but it would be a nice touch for sure.

Well GT5P has got the spectators looking pretty good, and the pit crew, so Im sure they could easily add the flaggies. I would like to see this. And if you are racing a high spec car, including NASCAR (which in real life has it I belive) a yellow light in car on the dashboard.
