I get that he does not want us sitting in the same race over and over. A better solution would have been to buff other races to the hourly rate of the most efficient races. But, MTX....

Also, the event content should be at minimum what GT4 had at launch, then expand from there. Where are the one make races as an example. They could then release updates that mix things up and change tracks for different series and races.

Well at least he got the message. Let's see how it plays out

My initial gut reaction sadly is get *****d.. you don't want people to enjoy lots of cars, you want people to pay to collect a variety of cars! you pushed the price too high for those cars, now your caught and doubling down..

I paid £80 for a GT game. A series I have loved since GT1! all I wanted was a nice looking version of GT4 instead I'm getting pretentious invites to blow 3million credits on a car.. trying to catch me with FOMO as a mechanic.. and a roulette wheel that's locked away features!

Hummmm....at least he said something.

Still not convinced about his response about the payout adjustments but it goes to show he does pay attention to what the community are saying, which is good to know.

So Kaz, just incase you happen to read this, fix the god damn broken lobbies asap!! 😳

Actions speak louder than words. I'll believe him when I see the results.
I'm hopeful when I read most of the message, but it's the last sentence that worries me.

"We would really appreciate it if everyone could watch over the growth of Gran Turismo 7 from a somewhat longer term point of view."

We want you to experience a variety of cars and events, so now they're all equally worthless! What an absolute joke of an excuse. I know that he can't just straight up tell the truth "we want you buying more microtransactions pls and thx", but that is a pathetic attempt at masking intentions.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Kaz is very much against MTX and instead it is a Sony directive. GT rakes in enough money as is and Sony fund them, I doubt PD are hurting for cash.

I read this as Kaz knowing the microtransactions are not welcomed and he himself disapproves but he can’t do too much about it or speak his mind. Not yet, anyway. Specifically the line, “It pains me that I can’t explain the details regarding this at this moment,” with the above line talking about new events and content to constructively resolve the issue.

The statement can be interpreted a few different ways and part of me really wants to believe Kaz is against these and that it’s something Sony put forth. GT has had MTX in 6 and Sport (the latter, while still unfavourable, were not too bad since you couldn’t buy cars over 1/2 million credits) so perhaps Kaz is okay with it and it’s simply referring to the fact that he can’t divulge the details of upcoming updates, regardless of if they concern microtransactions or not. I don’t know.

I’d like to hope he is trying to get them either removed or have their importance lessened as quickly as possible but we won’t know until we see what future updates hold.

Either Kaz is against them and his hands are tied or he doesn’t mind them and the credit payouts won’t change, nor will new events give the opportunity to earn more on average. Which would technically fit the bill of less grinding the same event repeatedly, but we all want increased rewards. I really hope it’s the former. At least then there’s a chance that things will improve in time.

The problem is, I can't judge what the game could be in 6 months. I can only judge what I have in front of me. If he's not willing to even discuss future updates or how he plans to address the issue, what are we to say exactly? "Please understand" is not an acceptable answer as far as I'm concerned.

Don't want to start arguments about World Circuit payouts, so I'll simply say that I'm thankful that the 1.07 issue was discovered as quickly as it was. I'm equally thankful that the servers are back up and running today, and that I can once again enjoy GT7 at the pace and in the ways I want to. 👍

It sounds a bit like "I would like people to enjoy the game even without microtransactions. I would like that, but unfortunately, that's not what's happening here. The prizes have been lowered so you can pay us money and we may consider adding new events with better payments in the future."

I want to believe that he has pure intentions, truly, i've just become jaded with gaming in general after so many years of cashgrabs; broken promises; half finished products; etc from seemingly every series I've ever liked.

I do get that publishers are generally to blame for any decisions in games to do with real life money, but PD have made some baffling decisions with this game like a career mode that doesn't even have events for multiple categories of cars, seemingly just forgetting they exist, so i'm personally not gonna give them the benefit of the doubt.

I appreciate your optimism tho.

If Kaz is against MTX, then why tie them to credits and the in-game economy. Do it like other games where MTX is mostly for cosmetics and I'm sure people would appreciate that a lot more. There's better ways to do this.

We would really appreciate it if everyone could watch over the growth of Gran Turismo 7 from a somewhat longer term point of view.

That's going to be difficult to do once everyone has uninstalled it out of boredom. You don't go to the cinema and pay your ticket price only to get told the film will now be played in black and white but that if you wait 8 hours the full colour version will appear.

I would have atleast hope for some teases of sillhoutes with "update coming next week" or something.
But a letter like this is acceptable.
In the meantime I am hoping he means more events with better payouts are coming too in the coming updates if he does not want people grinding over the same race to earn money/credits.

But one can only hope..

I missed this bit off my original post:

if possible would like to try to avoid a situation where a player must mechanically keep replaying certain events over and over again.

I don't understand how he can say this when the last patch made changes that actively took steps away from this goal. The highest earning race hasn't changed, but what has changed is how many times you need to replay it to earn credits. That's the exact opposite of this quote.

Raising the rewards for all events to bring them in line with the highest earners and then adjusting them based on the difficulty rating would have immediately solved this problem.

Even though that communication is the standard corporate response that i am not buying.. the thing is not everyone has all day to plow into a game in order to earn enough credits to buy the cars they want.

I want to play elden ring but I know I don't have time to play such a game so I haven't bought it, wouldn't expect to have my progress slowed on purpose just go see what PD has in store.

Anyways as someone has already said, acknowledgement is the first step so let's see what they come up with.

They can have high priced legendary cars and still pay people more credits. The new cafe content was short and there aren’t many races. People grind because they want to play with more cars.

The game is designed to take hundreds of hours earning credits or just buying them instead. It’s what f2p mobile games do.

I said it before the game was released. MTX are a plague and this is more proof that the game was design around MTX so they can squeeze as much money out of you. I don't care if it's Sony or PD's fault. It's predatory behavior design to incentivize the spending of real money towards virtual currency.
