oh wow... thats all i can say is just... wow. i'm begining to feel quite lazy that i chickened out of puting 200,000 miles on an 88 accord for "project 1337". (i may yet do that one now. lol)

Oh dear.

Oh dear, oh dear.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

This is NOT why KY gave us B-spec!

There'll be an outcry. Everyone will go

Only a Volvo driver would consider this an interesting thing to do...

I dont drive a Volvo and I found it quite interesting!!

Was going to attempt the same myself - but lack of PS2 access (university  ) has prevented anything major happening. First outing my Volvo racked up just over 1000miles - looking especially funky on motorsport style wheels, acquired from the rally RSC.

One day... 1million miles.

Well congrats on this really weird achievement, I get bored at GT4 after playing 30 minutes once a week, which is the only reason why my PS2 ever goes on..

Why didn't you take a faster car though!! I mean 1 000 000 kms is 1 000 000kms, volvo or not!

BTW:

I've got that new Cadillac Cien Concept ('02) running as we speak, and last I checked it was up over 10k miles, currently doing laps around the test track at an average speed of 235MPh. It already had 7k on it from a while ago when I wanted to see what kind of damage running it on no gas or pit stops for an entire endurance race. I can't recall what happened, it's been months since, but i remember the b-spec driver wanting to pit, so i'd hit the pit-stop button to switch the pit stop off. It ran and ran without gas as far as I remember. The worn out tires played hell on him trying to take corners though!
But, yeah, the last i checked, like I said, it was at just over 10k, and that was a few hours ago... roughly 10 miles a minute, at 3x speed of course... that'sa lotta miles.
Going for the Million Mile Mark.

This all reminds me of when I used to use the strategically placed rubber bands on the controller to let the Escudo Pike's Peek edition do a few laps around the big, lop-sided oval track in the GT3 endurance race win cash for me while I went to McDonalds.

I seriously hope you didn't do this in one run. Or that you have two PS2s.
There is a cabdriver in Oslo that has over 2,400,000 km in his 82' Mercedes E230 Diesel. That took him over 20 years.

RenesisEvo you weren't seeing things... I posted practically the same thing on both 'cause I thought it would be relevant to both threads... But I guess that's a "no no" 'cause I see today coming back to it that the other one has been deleted... So I guess I won't be doing that again!

Dead thread alert! ok fair enough you are going for the 1 million km also, or did you just post for the hell of it?

Bjorn, I'm new to GtPlanet but im not new to Gran Turismo, You chose such a great car to do that race and im very pleased to see a 240GLT Get some credit

hey :) just jumped in a car its dun 141.000 miles on it lol how long till i get the 1,000,000 lol :)

OOO yeh i got it new :P

xXx

Please don't send us kisses. :yuck: Try to use proper punctuation and spelling. If you're English there's no excuse not to use the language properly. :dunce:

If it was a new car, work out how long it took you to go from 0 - 141,000 miles, and multiply that by 7.09, to find out how soon you'll hit the million mile mark driving at the same rate.

If on the other hand you're claiming you bought a used car with 141,000 miles on it already, that's nonsense. :sly: The highest mileage used car that can be bought anywhere has 62,483.7 miles on it. ;)

Reading it, I thought it was an enduro where 1 million k was at stake (a lot of money!), but this is even more amazing, and certainly more grueling!

Your B-Spec Bjorn must have the stamina of J.M. Fangio, Stirling Moss, Jacky Ickx, Oliver Gendebien, Phil Hill, Derek Bell... and all other endurance drivers combined! Congratulations!

Hopefully, your PS2 underwent much maintenance before, during, and after the feat...

Edit: Fine, SIR Stirling Moss...

I would join this, but I'm not insane enough to try.
And to think I once tried to drive the Ring with the Patent Wagon.
I didn't made it to the start line before I gave up.

I dont know weather to comment on how amazing this is, Go try it myself, or comment on how damn old this thread is?
