Using Driving Force GT and A home made HandBrake :D

EDIT : To be Noted that i'm the 2nd on the Ranking List whose using a 900 degrees wheel and 8th on the overall List
and the 4th guy on the overall list ( drift_artist) is my brother and he's the 1rst using a 900 degrees wheel :D

Very very nice job! had the same idea on a handbrake except with a rod a very heavy spring and little "poker" to push a DS3 button for handbrake

Good but thing is that any1 can drift in drift mode cus it has different physics.
Y dont u go online and see how you get on

I tried it online with rx-7 fc, it was the same for me.

Though i want to beat the online record badly, i will never touch a car like the special 67, that i cannot own in real life.

I see people saying this all the time and I don't understand why? this is not true, in my experience.

to the OP, nicely done.

Nice job. Im trying to learn on the DFGT and am finding it difficult. What FFB settings do you use, and do you use power steering? Any tuning advice? Thanks a lot.

I did Drift online and its the same ... easy! ;) why don't you put your money where your mouth is and let me see your name on the rankings ;) ( if you can drift that is ;) )

Thanks :D

I had that idea first but then i realized that using a simple rope to tie the DS3 stick to the flightstick ( and the buttom of it) to make them move together is alot simpler ;)

Thanks Bro ;)

that was good work anyway, i cant even get in the top 1,000!

Guys Try these settings :
DFGT : steering:simulation ,power steering:embarrassed:n, FFB:10
LSD : in t 30, acc 60, dec 60

Susp :
(setting : front/rear)
ride height -max/-max (lower all the car down)
stiffness : most soft/most hard
dampers (comp and decomp) rates : 10/1
anti-roll : max/max
camber : -10/-10
toe : +max/-max

Gears : depends on the car's power but the idea is to choose the longest gear ratios possible that your car can drift with so that your engine will not reach the cut-off state too quickly when you are Drifting ;)

Great drifting 👍 I'm at the beginner/amateur stage with a DFGT at the moment. I'm not brilliant but it's a lot of fun.

A word of warning though - try and avoid double-posting (or indeed, posting five times in a row as you have above). It's frowned upon here and it's not very difficult to multi-quote (the little icon beside the normal quote button) so there's no real excuse ;)

I look forward to seeing more videos though, you've obviously got the knack of drifting with the DFGT 👍

wait a second so its not a joystick? I hooked up my joystick and it works as ony one controller but as you would've thought 2 controllers cant control one car...

Thanks and sorry i ddnt know it's frowned and my problem with videos is not that i dont know how to drift but with my low upload bandwidth (9kbps max :S) i have 3 videos on youtube till now and more on the way ... :D

you have to put the DS3 as controller #1 and the DFGT as #2 so you can use ur controller to handbrake ( that's y have to use a controlled compatible with the PS3 and has a PS button on it ... and therefore tie your old flightstick to the DS3 ;p)

great score, but frankly your suspension settings are absurd. I know it works in game, and I know that you have a score I wouldnt be able to beat, but theres setting a car up for drift and theres setting a car up for no grip what-so-ever. Id rather battle with a car that has a more feasible set-up and come last than go to those extremes.

Dude define feasible ... if a man can handle the car with settings like that in real life he would definitely go for it ;)
Now battling is a thing and putting up an extreme show is another ... ask any D1 or FD Driver and he would tell you the same ;)

edit : BTW to get a good score in GT5 , as i think you know, you should be Driving exactly on the racing Line ( which not even close to the best Drift Line) with an angle that is not too extreme nor too light and with as much slowly as u can. That is not even close to the best way to judge a drift ... I which that they have made it like the scoring system in GRID ... ( and i know that one is a 100% arcade not SIM ...) but the scoring in that game was based on your speed and your angle and the distance of the Drift (the FASTER the WIDER and the LONGER !). If GT5 Was like that i bet that no one would've been able to beat me it it :D

If I went down to the garage and put -10 degrees camber on my PS13 (which without considerable work, even with adjustable arms, would be nigh on impossible) then took it out for a few runs it would be un-driveable. Thats some demon camber setting, which might work to roll your car to and from the show, but as far as drifting in concerned are totally unfeasible.

Basically, I'd be more impressed if you drove that score without exploiting suspension settings that are impractical. Its a bit like me buying a FWD car, ass-dragging around the course, and then boasting about my skills. It's just not cricket.

Nice score, but I hate the scoring system. Someone said this before and and the scoring system gives you points by how slow you are and how close you are to the driving line which I find stupid. Idk but nice score and nice drifting skills with the wheel.

Impressive vid! I just got the dfgt and am still trying to actually keep anything with any power on the road :) I'll have to give drifting a go though after having seen this :D

Hi guys. Respect for all who are able to do big scores in this events. It´s much harder than in prologue to be good in the rankings.
I think that the physics are different online and offline(drift mode). It´s more agressive(slippy) in online mode.
I´m a little bit sad that the rankings are not seperated between wheel and pad, and that the wheel drifters are not seperated between 200°,540°,900° and others.
My oppinion is that it is harder to drift with wheel than with pad becaus you can´t turn from hard left to hard right in 1/10 second.

See you in the Top 100 ;-)(hopefully)

check post #16 ;) i went through this ...

so is drifting with a wheel easier than a controller?

nice score btw
DS3 is Much Much easier ;)

See that's what happens when you do good, you find haters that try to knock you down. Nice job bud! :D
thanks :D

It's true.

The first time I have ever drifted was online. I found it to be not very hard and went on to do the drift events which I found neither easier nor harder.
So in my opinion its the same.

great job, hats off to you doing drifting with a wheel. and as for your setup i have been using it on all my cars and it truley is a formula that will turn any car into a drift car. even a samba bus, lol.
