A (Proper) Tribute to Dale Earnhardt Sr.

GTPlanet, while ESPN here may be talking about its "3" movie highlighing on the life and times of Dale Earnhardt before his tragic death at Daytona in 2001, I figured that no one ever wanted to make a legitimate tribute to America's Intimidator. So if you want to make a tribute to Dale Earnhardt, here is your forum to do so. Now before you think this is dumb, Earnhardt did race the Daytona 24 in 2001 and did pretty damn good with his team that year on a rain-drenched Daytona.

So, anyone want to kick this bad boy off for the seven-time NASCAR champion?

What's truly sad, is that one of my dad's good friends (and employees), was good friends with Dale. Back in the '80's he and Dale were so close, that he's driven Dale's car more than once on the track. It was a sad time for their family since they were so close.

He and Jr. both enjoyed the road courses, believe it or not, and they both liked racing the 24 hour Corvettes. Dale, Jr. was thinking about doing the Le Mans, at one time, but I don't think the Nextel schedule will allow for it.
