Dale Earnhardt Tribute in GT7

Nope. That's not a source. That's you backpedaling. Don't make the claim if the best you can do to support it is a wide-eyed "everyone arguing against me is a NASCAR hater" line of strawman crap in response to people asking nothing more than for you to actually defend your claim. Ok then ratings wise...

Yes it does. You were the one who claimed "the Daytona 500 is the biggest event in racing bar none". I didn't even say that was wrong. Legacymachine didn't say that was wrong. I've got a couple in mind that (if I was to guess) might blow the 500 out of the water for television ratings, but if you refuse to even elaborate about what you meant by "biggest" then it's not worth the time to actually look up the numbers.

Because one raced cars most of the world has deemed, and some still do, as primitive and barbaric, and while yes he won many championships, he ran almost exclusively in a single nation, one that in and of itself considers the sport a waste of time and money. The other raced in some of the most advanced racers on the planet, at very different circuits around said planet, and was one of the faces of the many series he was involved in, the biggest being the undisputed pinnacle of motorsport be it as a driver or an organization.

Be glad NASCAR was given any attention, and be grateful the Aussie V8's weren't chosen instead.
Well damn, that was a bit harsh.
Europeans have soccer and racing...
That's just ignorant.
Lol...Well you couldn't find many Americans that could name one F1 driver...
You can't find many that can name NASCAR drivers.
And yet the Daytona 500 is the biggest event in racing bar none...
In the US...
It's the other way around man... Like it or not America is the big stage on this planet (for now anyway)
No it isn't.
In most of these global countries you're talking about you could put up a taco stand and get 100,000 people to turn out...Here in the states it's not that easy you gotta have a product that can compete with other sports..
I have no idea what the hell you're even talking about at this point.

I'm sorry did I leave out Cricket? Lol

right, so when is your argument going to become relevant to the topic?

Moving on,

It would be great to see some sort of Dale Sr tribute, but it would seem more likely that more of a Mario Andretti or Andretti family tribute would be closer,

How about they fix that crappy AI? As far as tributes go I'd love to see all the legends get the nod in one massive game...

The ignorance is great in this thread... anyway it probably would have been a better idea to do the tribute in GT5 in 2011 as that would have been the 10th anniversary of his death, however, it could be done in 2016 for the 15th anniversary.

I think people need to acknowledge the fact that NASCAR doesn't have mainstream global appeal, unlike F1. I'm from the UK and, although I'm a pretty serious car/motorsport enthusiast, I'd never heard the name Earnhardt before GT5.
Before GT6, I had never heard of Ayrton Senna to be honest.

Fair enough, but people all over North, America, South America, Europe, Asia and Australia had, and that's my point. But as Not_a_guest said, I feel I've made my point so enough about Senna.

It'd be the same rubbish driving challenges with a different name. I'm sure it couldn't hurt having classic NASCAR base models, in which his liveries are optional along with a livery editor to add variety. I'm not sure many really want to have a grid full of #3 cars racing online, it just looks silly.

This is an great idea, especially for who was an huge fan of Dale....

But I think there should be an tribute for Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

I'd be happy with at least something new NASCAR related.

Or something old! Hopefully a 1963 Ford Galaxie as raced in the USA in NASCAR and as brought over to the UK and raced in the British Saloon Car Championship by Jim Clark, Jack Sears and Sir Gawaine Baillie:

Above NASCAR spec Ford Galaxies took the BSCC by storm in 1963. Below how about some fabulous historic NASCAR cars!
