"The 'Whenever I Get Around To It' Lug Nut"
Things are looking up for DW Motorsports
4 Days ago, a fund raising event was hosted at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan by DW Motorsports driver Dylan Wieloszynski. The event featured a Super GT, GT300 class exhibition race and a car show. The event raised over $175,000 that would be used to build a new car specifically for the race at Mid-Field last night. After the car was built, it was immidiatly sent to Mid-Field for practice and testing. Ironically, Dylan said he preferred the way the original car drove and chose to field it instead of the new one.
Going in to last nights race, Dylan was under extreme pressure to perform after poor finishes that included a 7th place finish at Indianapolis and a 11th place finish at Motegi. Moral on the team was high though after Dylan was able to score his first win during the All Star Open 2 weeks ago, and finished 3rd overall.
After an unexpected and disappointing low turn out of only 6 drivers, Dylan was able to put his car 3rd on the grid. The race began and ran caution free for it's duration. Dylan spent the duration of the race hunting down 2nd place, but was unable to make a pass. At the end, Dylan finished the race basically where he started, 3rd. He may not have gained any positions but Dylan was able to score his highest points finish in the IROC series, and in the A.R.S.
Things are starting to look up for the single car team, and we can't wait to see what will happen next as the series heads back to Twin Ring Motegi.
