That is what I've been trying to tell BERSERK all along..!!!!!!! Full reverse... use of the triangle button! Its not hard...

i'm at school right now but when i get home i have got to see this.
Drifting backwards.... Damn now they're gonna have competitions
based on on that :D

to the guy that did it (still have to see the video though) nicely done. I've been hearing of this topic for awhile now and it is good to see someone finally put it to rest. :D

well not quite... you still have one unchanging axis when you flip around ff, so technically it is still very different than fr, because the only control you have over the "front end" results fromt he sip angle your entire car is at...

But that still isnt realistic breaker... you have usless front wheels...

Maybe one day they will make cars like that...lol
shopping carts are like that. :)

I'd never buy one, but it would be funny.

It would be inefficient... your steering would be created around your front wheels rather than your rear wheels, which would make for a strange and unnatural experience... and in my opinion unless the car is then front wheel drive with rear wheel steering, such a car is worthless becuase i believe that all wheels should have some input so you have better control over the car... In addition a rr with rear wheel steering is just stupid lol... rr is unstable as it is... and yes it would be rediculously funny...

Except that it isn't really even drifting, in my opinion. Sorry, but I think this is similar to that video of the arabs in the Accord. Sure it's funny, but it's not drifting. I think something like that would cost you more points in a GTPDC than it would give you. I'm not a judge though so...

Ok, I knew it was possible, and I still have some tweaks to work on it since I have only been working on this for a day. You want to see a reverse drift?

Here's the video...

That was really nice. It's nice to see people trying new things. For all those that said, "well, that was just okay” or “not really drifting”. Go ____ yourselves… well not really… But seriously, I would have thought people would have appreciated this more. I thought it was fantastic; best thing since the 360 drift!

ya i thought it was very nice too. If it was done half a$$ed with sloppy control i thought it woulda sukd, but it was executed better than some ppl can drift forwards.

Props to Bill 👍

Good job. Now you make me want to try it :D

I'm guessing that reverse drifting only works on hairpins, but am I wrong?

I mean no disrespect, it was merely a constructive criticism. Anything can be an art, tray sliding, donuts, I was merely pointing out that I don't think it's drifting any more than those things are. Sorry if anyone took it the wrong way.

Really, you could do it in any turn I think. If someone had a wheel, I am sure they could have control over the turning wheel angles.

When you try this, you basically whip the car around with a fast and full lock turn of the wheel. However, this would make you spinning in a few circles pretty quick because it gives way to much oversteer. So, I was thinking that best way to counter the oversteer in the rear is oversteer in the front, and while going backwards that means pulling the parking brake.

Like I said, I have only tried this for a little over an hour, so there is still a lot more room to be improved upon. I was reading about it and people saying it wasn't possible, and I sat down and drew out diagrams on paper to figure if it was possible. I already figured that you would need an FF car, but I didn't think you would need the parking brake until I started trying it. Now all I need to do is link some turns together. :) I was thinking of keeping this on the down low until I put it in my drift video, but I have plenty more theory drifts to test out that I think can be done.
