I won the Abarth from Sierra, so it came with tuned parts already, the Fit was tuned from starting from scratch. I happen to like Fits and have owned two of them, including the model featured in GT-6.
Both the Fit and the Abarth could maintain 100 mph or better around the ring so ....... not much of a challenge there. Maybe I will go down a notch in tire quality and try it again. I also won my first lap with a new 91 NSX that I won somewhere. It was basically stock.

VW Schwimmwagen Typ 166 '42 Had the lead in lap twp so I went to 3/4 throttle made it more intteresting. was at 400PP I think I'll try taking the turbo off that drops it to 382.

I won by 0.009 :D

I'm sure it has to do with the fact that I somehow never ran this particular layout until this Seasonal Event, but I am having a lot of fun on this track. I just took out a rarely used Mazda Miata '07 and had a blast. Well, except for the time I spun out :embarrassed: but the rest was great!! :D

I won with the Schwimmwagen too. I started out with a Storia X4 '00 tuned up to 425pp, which was way overkill. The Mirage Cyborg ZR '97 with only FCS suspension and sports hard tires was a lovely and smooth drive, but a Daihatsu Midget was a total blast. Replay was pretty funny too!

Used my 400PP Audi Quattro '82 for this event. It was a pretty easy event, as I was ahead of the NSX '90 by about 6 seconds. I took the lead around the beginning of lap 2, and I held the lead for the rest of the race.

I've always hated the Lancia STRATOS. It has felt like the car wants to kill me every time a corner comes. But luckily I tried ballasting it to weight distribution 50:50 and applying all weight losses to compensate. It has now become one of my favourites. Very fun, fast, much more stable than stock but yet tail-happy enough to drift through corners. Gave me a gap of +50 seconds to 2nd place RX-7 on my first try.

We have very similar stories. I received a 15th Anniversary Edition of the Lancia Stratos on my first day of playing Gran Turismo 6. I didn't know much about the car's history in real life, but man did I hate attempting to drive that thing. I can't even say driving it because all I did was spin and crash around every freakin' turn! Granted, I was a total Gran Turismo n00b, but the car really did drive like crap in v1.01 in my opinion. :yuck:

I went probably 10 months without even thinking of touching the car. I saw someone post a picture of their Lancia Stratos in action in a Seasonal Event with a link to a tune, so I decided to buy a new one, paint it the same color and give it a shot. I figured I'm a much better driver now, so that should help.

It's still not the most well behaved car in my garage, but that's okay. I just consider it part of the car's charm and character. I really, really enjoy driving that Lancia Stratos now. There are still times where I feel like I'm on the razor's edge of spinning, but I just back off a little bit and she settles down nicely. :D  I hope somebody reads these posts who feels negatively toward the car and maybe they'll give it a second chance after seeing our posts @MTM79! 👍

New update: Stock 2003 Honda Odyssey mini van, 342 pp, shown absolutely no respect (hence the damage to my soccer mom vehicle) with a win of .180...

So far I've golded with:

Karman Ghia 437pp, tuned to look cool with huge camber which makes it slide like crazy... So much fun though!

Dome Zero 450pp, so much grip but push it too far and it'll push you back :dunce:

BTR 86 450pp, tuned to behave :nervous: with its bum in the air :P

Then I felt compelled to use the Tank Car - no golds but some huge rear end slides (no spin out tho) and great last lap battles. Always got 1st stolen from me on fourth from last corner and came in third each time. I will be attempting again today :banghead:

Ha ha! I did this with a Honda CR-Z @. Yes, at 450pp, overpowered. But, as luck would have it, my screen went black right after turn 1 in the third lap. My hdmi cable is wonky... I am still able to drive my car. I crash into something, and brake to a halt after that. Now, I've been watching the replay, and after breaking, I was stationary for 30 seconds. When the view became slightly less none exsistent, I found myself in 8. position. I decided to take it as nice little run through, but wouldn't you know? Late in the 5th lap I sailed by the NSX for a comfortable win.
Guess I will be picking a lower pp car next time:dopey:

Just did it in a Lancia Stratos a few times. I'm down to 329pp and about 90 hp. Not sure how much less I can get away with. Total race time is still under 10:40 so there's a second or two per lap at least to lose. I'll go for 319pp next.

I had to use my turbo-charged, Ryobi-green Midget of course. The AI was so mad at such insolence that they were basically screaming while they tried to gangbang me. Not a chance; I delivered all parts safely to the pits with the yellow NSX or the green Elise always on my tail till the finish line.

I'll see if I can edit this post and drop in a pic later.

Wanted to try my birthday car (Citroen 2CV) here too. Did some tuning and managed to win.
For all the guys here that find AI to slow: I had to race 5 (five) rabbits (!) until the finish and they were not exactly friendly either. I did catch them during lap 4 (with the Elise still 2" ahead) and from then on I got pushed off track two times, got bumped into a couple of times, mostly the RX7 and the Elise (pretty agitated driver).
This did not exactly helped my lap times.
In the end it was a pretty close finish... :P

I'm going to have to try that 2CV, I won in a Toyota Aqua with an overall time of 10:58xx and a .6xx gap. I'm looking for a win with times over 11:00.

Easy win for me using my '02 Mazda Protégé, using this setup:

Sports: Hard Tires
Racing Suspension: Soft
Racing Brakes
Six-Speed Transmission
Triple-Plate Clutch Kit
Weight Reduction: Stage 3
Carbon Hood (Body Color)
Window Weight Reduction

Performance Points: 390PP
Margin of Victory: 13.882 seconds
:gtpflag:

Event reopened until .. 08/01/2015 .. 03:00 GMT/UTC .. EXTENDED OPEN TIME

All race events, or only this one?

I wondered why they kept them up though closed.

BRB after checking.

Just checked - Laguna Seca and Apricot also open.

Yay?
