Won first time out in the mighty (stock) Honda Fit :) had to do some naughty blocking to the finishing line though, good job the stewards weren't looking

Mitsubishi 1400 GLX which I knew as a Dodge Colt can even win this, had to block the Hommel on the straights though and got a good rap on the tail just before the finish.

Bring an A10 to a knife fight? Detuned a BTR and added weight to make the power point setting. Why? Because I couldn't get my Cizetta that low. Tired of "How low can you go?" Try it the other way for silly, obnoxious fun. Too bad it won't let me run dirt tires.

And for more excitement, run the Stratos on the CH tires! Just couldn't quite catch that lead Mercedes on CH shoes; although, my Stratos did keep it exciting.

That was an excellent suggestion. Anyone fancy a game of how low can you go in a Stratos? I'll start the ball rolling with 350PP (full ballast and power limit to 115hp) on CH. Narrow win against a Celica SS-II with a total time of 6:18.

Did it in Volkswagen Samba Bus Typ 2 (T1) '62 :odd:

I took advantage of this event to try more cars tuned by Praiano in the 400PP range, as I had only a few. Definitely some good surprises. Not challenging as you may guess, because each one will give you easy gold, even on comfort tyres. But I found it a great opportunity to discover some unexpected jewels. I really enjoy low PP races from time to time, taking it easy, even if in this case, the track is maybe not the most appropriate.

PS Don't forget to copy the tunes in a free sheet as long as the transmission bug is not fixed!

Edit: typo.

What is this word 'fun' I keep hearing about here? You guys having fun? What! Get serious! This is the problem with beginners. Just having too much fun.
:dopey:

On that note - I didn't have the Cosmo on CHs but if I did that it would be a closer race. I find that I can limit most cars in this class one way or another to max out my skills in keeping up with them - and as we've found out many a time, the AI pace us. If we look at the screenshots provided so far, it ssems like the AI can reach different speeds - some times the same AI Bob being considerably faster or slower according to the player's pace.

I have to say that I can easily get addicted to the 'Beginners' as they call it Level, but insofar as it happens that being classed 'Beginners' it has lower PP events.
That doesn't mean the lower PP events are easier - just at a slower pace - and a lot of strategic overtaking, judicious runs at a corner, using momentum to the full, and so on; in high PP races, the pace is so fast that these situations are fewer and happen quicker to really impact our judgement on the fly.

Overall I think all three events seem like a lot of fun if one knows just how to use the cars in one's garage.
If I have the time, yes, all the ancient Hot Rods are coming out - the 2CV, the Bug, the 360 . . . :D

Oooops. There I go having fun, too. :embarrassed:

"the AI pace us". They sure do. The AIs best lap (lap 2) was a 2.04 until I got into the lead for the last lap, where the AI did a 1.51.

The main problem is that the AI don't do any real racing otherwise, just going around the track in a conga line, leaving a big gap between each car. PD obviously think this is the best approach for beginners.

Haven't played GT for a couple of months, I love this iteration of the track and have been day dreaming of getting an old MX5 as a track car, so... MX5 1600 '04, CH tyres, tcs & abs off.

Couldn't quite do it stock, with the CLK pulling away down the straights in front - perhaps with a bit more time and a lucky or extra clean run of laps. Fitted the sports cat and was able to pass it easily when it backed off in the back esses. It got a few lengths back on me on the straight before the final hairpin but was easy to pick off there and didn't have to block it to hold on to the win. Really enjoyable race for me, great challenge for smooth driving and clean racing 👍
