...can I just reiterate how much I love that GTPlanet exists as a resource? :D

Tried a small handful of cars, and couldn't seem to advance any significant amount in the pack. Saw the suggestion for the Chapparal 2X, and won easily with it.

Even driving fast and loose, I was able to manage a 7:26:030. And I do mean fast and loose:

Think I'll have another go at the event with one of the other cars recommended in this thread, but I do feel accomplished, now that I know I can best this event.

Cheers, GTP!

I'd have bet this seasonal would have had a @WhoosierGirl replay video with one of her oddball car choices.

PD is having fun with the AI on this seasonal for sure.

I haven't been on GT6 in a few weeks, thanks for the sending me a message about the event. I love R246 in either direction, not sure if the ZR1 is odd but it is fun.

PD doesn't have exclusive rights to crazy driving AI's, Project Cars has some also, lol.

Tried the Minolta with Praiano tune as somebody suggested. The first tries I finished about 10 seconds behind the Minolta rabbit. First I thought it wasn't possible to get a different field, then I got a C60 Hybride as rabbit. Won with a 2.7 second lead and all laps were 1.27's. It's amazing to see how fast other people are. I've won this race and that's enough for me now.

Finally Gold. 7.29.603, 905 Evo 1 Bis LM ´92. That was hard. Tried with 2X, LM55, TS030 and new Zytek Z11SN. Not even close.

After many failed attempts, some lame, some bang on but getting taken out by the psychotic AI. I managed a win in the @shaunm80 Pescarolo C60 Hybride - Judd '05.

Many thanks for the tune, just love the way this car handles.
No worries, Glad it helped you out. this event was quite hard (imo) so well done on getting gold.

Either I learn to dial in my tunes, or the AI in these Seasonals get easier during their two week runs.

I was getting clobbered last week with 8-11th place finishes with my Pescarolo, but manged to win the other day. Maybe it was increasing the downforce to near max that helped, but I don't think my driving got any better.

but I don't think my driving got any better.

It probably did mate... fortunately i managed to win on my first tries, but it definitely got 'easier' with practice, to the point where the only challenge is against the clock, since you're already leading since the 2nd to 3rd lap.

Some of the corners in this track can be done at increasingly higher speeds, that's why i managed to do some of my best runs (under 7:15) by actually lowering rear downforce and eliminating all camber... it's like the inside of the bends pull you in and you keep pushing it faster on each run.

I can NOT believe I finally won an expert level race again, I was about to write it off as unwinnable when I remembered I bookmarked Praiano's tunes. I never tried tuning a race car just regular cars, I got a best of 2nd, tried some other tunes, did worse, went back to Praiano's and WON! I m so freekin happy, it's been over a month since I won one. Not a great race, a best lap of 1:24 and finished with 7:27 but I WON!! YESSSS!! Thank's again Praiano, I couldn't have don't it without his C60 tune. Tokyo forward is not one of my better tracks and reverse? I can't even remember the last time I saw that, GT4 maybe? lol

Edit: Oh yea, won a car I already had too. lol But I WON!!! lmao

After using a handful of the other cars using the C60 almost feels like you're cheating. The 787B stealth is a beast too, not quite as mean as the C60 though. Going to try the old BMW V12 LMR next.

It's rather upsetting that I could not pull off a victory in my Toyota Minolta 88C-V. I absolutely adore driving that car on LeMans. For some reason, I just couldn't find the right level of throttle discipline with this Group C monster. Every time I saw another post mentioning a victory had while behind the wheel of the Toyota Minolta, I got a little bit more upset at my poor driving with her at this track. I really wish she were a Premium model car. The Toyota Minolta is a gorgeous car, in my opinion.

I really need to expand my collection of Le Mans & Group C race cars. I'm positive I'm missing out on some excellent vehicles when Seasonal Events like this one pop up. I absolutely never drive LM Prototypes or Group C cars "for fun", so that's why I've never been keen on dropping $2,000,000 on many of those types of cars. Now, however, I have just about every Premium car I've wanted and over $42,000,000 in credits. I might as well spend them!

I wish the 88C-V had a manual transmission in GT6 that works with the G27 H-shifter. I bought the Minolta hoping it wouldn't have the 'GT standard car' transmission issue, but alas, it did. $2mil spent and the car went straight to the stockyard. Sorry, I'm not going drive this car with the paddles or the sequential shifter on my DFGT. As a result of my stubbornness (not for lack of credits), I won't buy the classic Le Mans & Group C race cars unless I'm positive the manual transmission is authentically replicated in GT6. And from what I understand, they aren't. :grumpy:

Wait a minute...Are you telling me that even though you have an H-Pattern shifter, you can NOT use it with GT6 even though you have the car set to "manual transmission"?!?! I have never heard about that. That is just plain lame!! :grumpy:

Just so I have this straight...So, you CAN use the H-Pattern shifter with some cars in GT6, but not all of them? And not ANY Group C or LMP class cars? :banghead:

That's correct. There's a thread about it somewhere, but most racing-class cars don't allow use of the H-pattern shifter even though the car may have had one IRL. Even the Sauber Merc '89 (a premium) doesn't work with the H-shifter. 👎

But that's specific for the G27? I use a Fanatec setup and all works "fine" (clutch sensitivity is a bit odd but i got used to it).

Could be G27 related, but I thought it was all wheels. Does the H-shifter work with the Fanatec using the 88C-V?

I'll be completely honest with you, i used it for a little while when i was also playing FM4. I drove a few road cars, with no tunning, and the clutch worked fine in GT6, although i never tested it on race cars or any standard cars, i think, so you might be right. After a week or so, i switched to the sequential one.

I'll try it out and check.

PS - My setup, csr elite wheel/pedals + shifter set.

Finally golded this with the LM55!! Took quite a bit of effort and sweat, lots of practice, nearly giving up along the way:banghead:. Used the Praiano tune with RH tyres instead of RS (obviously). No SRF. Also had to lower the gearing from I think 3.000 to 3.550 to give it just a little bit more acceleration out of the corners. Catching a draft down the straight was needed a few times, and really pushing my way past a few of the AI was needed (no pitting them, though). That pesky Pescarolo rabbit is tough to beat, for me anyway.

I like the way the AI come "hunting" for you after they get a sideways bump, I like to think of it as the AI driver waking up a bit and getting more serious , rather than me getting a penalty for the bump or them being given a power up.

Nice to see Whoosier Girl posting again:cheers:

just tried using the new Peugeot Vision car..its fast but way too loose in its stock form...only got 5th place with it so far

I tried back to back SFR on and SFR off laps, averages out to about 10 seconds overall. The first few laps with with SFR off are pretty slippery until the tires come up to temperature, good fun.

With SFR on..

You are correct as I have run this experiment turning SRT/soft race rubber on and it is good for two seconds a lap.

Wow! 6:55 for a 10s advantage! Goes to show how much SRF is ""cheating".

Just curious, what lap time does that lend itself to?

SFR on. SFR off.

Lap 1 1.21.274 1.23.663
Lap 2 1.19.696 1.21.422
Lap 3 1.19.526 1.21.184
Lap 4 1.19.221 1.21.258
Lap 5 1.18.526 1.20.407

I have a different view of SFR, I get accused of using it even when I don't so I will keep it to myself :sly:.
