I had an absolute blast using my Lotus Elise 111R '04 with a tune provided by @Thorin Cain. You can find the tune HERE. I recommend turning all aids off except ABS 1 and changing the tires to fit the event, of course. This car has a lot of downforce which is nice and it looks cool as hell! :D I know his tune calls for 1.0/1.5 camber. I hadn't driven this car in quite some time and my camber was set to 0.3/0.5... I also ran a race with it at 0.0/0.0 just to see the difference. It definitely won't hurt your lap time using a bit of camber. I can't attest to 1.0/1.5 however. Use what you feel comfortable with. His gearing seems to be pretty perfect for this track too. I would get up to 150MPH just before having to lift off as you enter the tunnel and sweeping turn after the very long straight (start / finish line).

Good luck everyone! This is a fun event for trying various cars...I'm going to enjoy this - I rarely drive these kinds of tracks, so that's a bonus, I guess. :D

I just want to say, in fairness to the Tuner, since I publicly provided his tune that I went back and ran this car with the default camber settings of 1.0/1.5 and the car was totally fine. In fact, it might even be better in a couple of areas - like the hairpin turn and the esses section just before reaching the final straightaway to the finish line.

It would take an inexperienced tuner, like myself, some serious comparison testing to be able to give an honest appraisal of what I personally feel is the best amount of camber for this car on THIS track. I just thought I owed it to @Thorin Cain to go back and test HIS recommended settings since I advertised it as his tune. Just don't overdrive this car. She's not a total rocket on the straights, but she will blow your mind through the twists and turns. Let her slide...Don't panic and immediately start counter-steering unless you KNOW the backend is coming around on you.. This car wants to slide laterally! Let it. And remember this light car can be controlled with the throttle almost as much as it can with the brakes. I hope at least some of you try this setup. I honestly don't think you'll be disappointed. I have two Lotus 111R's and they're setup much differently, but they are really awesome, light cars!

Good event this...First car I tried was the Honda HSC, the one I spent HOURS with in the now-gone Nurb Expert in my Whoosiergirl inspired attempts to get below 7sec...Only got to 7.00.xxx, so I really started to hate this car...So I chosed it as first car in this race, as I thought it would be much easier to drive with less pp. gave it 490pp, easy win, very, but I still hate it...

Now it was time for some FUN...Yeah, jumped in my beloved RUF BTR, 490pp...Try it out peoples, the BTR is very good on this track, really...OK I`m a little blasphemic in my settings of the BTR, I know, so what? I like to drive it, much funnier than to crash it...

Did it this way: It has a stock weight of 1180kg, I like to keep it that way, but make it easier to drive. Bought the lot of weight reduction, then added weight back to 1180kg, distributed it -40 which gave a 46-54 weight distribution instead of it`s stock 40-60 figure...Blasphemic yes, but it still keeps the RR feel, indeed, just in a lovely way instead of a horrible way...

Other stuff: ARB 4-3 Camber zero front toe zero, rear toe +0.40 LSD init 35 (a lot, but it helps) acc 15, brake 40

The outcome is a DARLING...If You are about the same skill level as me, or a little below and have "BTR problems" this will help... If You are ALIEN, look the other way

Oh winning was easy enough, the BTR isn`t the fastest, but good enough...BTR is very good on SSR5, it`s certainly a RUF track 👍

No clarification needs my friend.:) I appreciate your feedback and I am just glad that you had some fun with this little car. 👍

So, I took my pre-tuned RUF RGT out for a spin in this event and had a blast. I really gotta hand it to the tuner. I'll try to go back and look at who's tune I used so I can give proper credit. Then I read your post and decide to try the RUF BTR. Sadly, I almost never drive my RUF cars. I'm a wimp - that's the reason, plain and simple.

Well, I didn't have a tune on my BTR so I frankensteined something together quickly. I took your advice about altering the default weight distribution and thank god I did. Even at 46-54 distribution, let's just say that my car is going to need a little body work. I applied a custom suspension because up until today I was only driving it stock on the rare occasion I drove it at all. I dropped it a few mm's, stiffened the springs slightly (more so in the rear) and left the dampers fairly balanced in a way that I hoped weight wouldn't be flying back and forth too much. ARB was set to F:3 R:1. LSD was set to 15/15/20 (maybe I should re-run the event with your LSD settings and see how she feels).

I just applied the typical trick to setting my newly purchased custom transmission. I left 1st gear rather long and spaced the rest out equally. I knew i wouldn't need tremendous top-end on this track

As far as driving went...Well, it was an adventure! I was all over the place on the first lap. I don't do drift events in GT6 and I get a little twitchy when my back end comes out on me unexpectedly, especially with this animal... Then I threw her into 1st gear at the hairpin, which was fine because of how tall 1st is, but I didn't expect the car to rotate so quickly on me and I spun. :ouch: :embarrassed:

Coming downhill and then uphill into the Esses section has been a bit of an adventure in pretty much all the cars I've driven so far and this was no exception. I really had no choice but to really back off and lightly brake before I went over the crest into the Esses. I really wish I could left-foot brake but my tiny TV tray-like table that my wheel is mounted on blocks my left leg, so I would have to use my heel on the top of the pedal so I don't even bother. I really think that if I could left-foot brake this car and maintain a little throttle when needed that I could really have a blast in this car.

It was fun. I plan on tweaking this some more and running a few more sessions with her in this event. Thanks for reminding me I had this thing collecting dust in my garage! 👍

Glad You tried the BTR mr ALB...Oh and I possible should have written that it is important to keep the rear end SOFT...You mentioned You hardened it some... I have spring rate front 5.16 and rear 7.55...Well the NUMBER are higher rear, but look at the blue bar instead of the number, and You will find that the rear is relative softer than the front with this setting. One will prefer to catch the tail in some butter soft springs, rather than catch in the steel hard BARRIER

Ride height is 90-95, Compression are 4-2 and extension are 4-3, and a little less rear brake than front...

In fact I should credit "somebody" for the LSD settings, as I honestly stole this from that "somebody" but I don`t recall who he is. Other ideas are my own...

Tried the infamous T1. Doable by an average driver like me.

It made me sad to read this, because I absolutely LOVE the Honda HSC concept. I have so many wins in that thing (online and offline) and I love the way it looks, one of my favorite concept cars. Even when it's stock, it tears the track up.

Don`t be sad. It`s insanely fast, it just denied me a sub 7min on Nurb, and crashed 10mio times with me inside it...It belongs in car prison...:dunce:

@light driver Thank you. I will try it again with a softer rear end. I just checked and noticed you are running a tiny bit softer, in the rear, than stock even. I'm sure your slightly increased damper settings make up for that, however. OMG, you don't want to even know what I had my rear springs set at. LOL Let's just say it was higher than 10 but lower than 12. :D Yup...I'm one world class tuner folks! :dunce:

Won this one with my 22b and @praiano63 tune. Piece of cake. Now back to 50 mil credits and nothing to spend it on.

No biggie though as I'm off to preach some more. See Ya'll on the next set of seasonals. One final thought; will PD ever give us back the community aspect we had in GT5?

I did the SSR5 event last night with my completely stock Honda HSC. Ended up winning by nearly 30 seconds.
That made me feel better. :)

NSX-R Protoype LM Road Car
Made this one for the Serria challenge on SS tires thus car sticks like glue to the track I had first by lap three bouncing off walls cause it rotated so much at entry I had to relearn the car  I upped the aero a bit for racing and changed the final drive shortened by 0.200, but as posted its fine.

Such a coincidence , i just completed using the above tune and was on my here to tell everyone to give it a try. Agree does rotate with ease. found myself backwards on the hairpin. Fun car to drive. thanks

Did this first try with DS3 instead of GTDF Pro Wheel and a tuned down 500PP standard NSX R LM Road Car won by .300s sec against a fast Fezza by putting his dirty ramming ar$e into the barrier on the final strait to the line

I usually prefer to drive real world courses, so I don't have a lot of experience on this track, but I'm gaining a lot of experience thanks to this event. Having said that, I've come to realize that, at least for me, this would make an excellent test track for tuning/tuning changes. It really has it all. A long straightaway. A variety of left & right hand turns. Sweeping turns that are on a decline and sweepers on an incline. It has a hairpin turn and it has a nice left/right that should be taken at a very fast speed. It's got it all...

@P_eMmO_72 So, I just took out my RUF 3400S in stock form for a rip on this event. I never modified it before tonight. I just wanted to get a general idea of how that car would behave on this track. Then I applied your mods for a race. I'd say it's a very nice, basic tune. Nothing too fancy and crazy - just a really smooth, pretty fast driver. I like it. You left the suspension supple enough that if I happened to cut over a red/white curb I didn't unsettle the chassis much at all. The gearing was good -- redline just before you're entering the tunnel anyway.

The only thing that I changed in your tune was the brake balance - which is a personal feel type of thing anyway. I'll definitely keep this tune on my RUF 3400S on Tab A, for now. I can see myself running this tune in another 500PP event. Oh, I almost wasn't sure if I wanted the weight balance right at 50:50, but as I drove it I realized it was great at 50:50...

Well done! 👍

detuned '10 LFA with about 400hp

beat the '12 Nurburgring Package LFA at 560pp and 560hp by about 1/2 a lap

either i'm awesome or the cpu sucks

i think the AI just sucks

160hp deficit is a fair bit i would think

I just completed the event with a 12 second win over the Nissan GT-R Black Edition (2nd place) and Ferrari 599 (3rd place) using the Nicks Forza Dino 246 GT Replica Tune by @Ridox2JZGTE. I also won the Ferrari Challenge with that replica tune (at 456PP with Power Limiter @ 100%, whereas the replica tune calls for 97% Power and 450PP). I highly suggest trying this tune out for this event. The Ferrari Dino just drives so freakin' smoothly on this track. It was a beautiful thing transferring the weight around on this track. :)

EDIT:
Just ran my newly purchased BMW Z4 M Couple '08 and applied THIS wonderful tune from @shaunm80 (isn't Exeter Tunes one of the best garages?). I ran this car twice, and the second time I decided to add 1.0/0.5 camber just to see how it might drive differently. I'd say that you can run this thing, especially on this track, with or without camber. I think the front camber allowed me a little bit better rotation mid-corner in some spots, but everything else in that tune is rock solid, in my book.

I was tuning a 480 PP 240Z during an online session and I was about to install the custom transmission, only to find out that I had like 7k credits left... so I decided to do this event since it's my favorite out of the 3. I thought it'd be fun to do it in the Z but I didn't even have enough money to buy sports soft tyres . I could buy the sports hard ones with the money let so I decided to use them. There were lots of people beating the ascari event with like a 450 PP Dino so I thought this should be easy compared to that. Well, I ended up winning with the Z! I took the lead in the tunnel just after the last lap started. Though, I admit that I had to shamefully block him on the long straight just before the finishing line since there was a big difference in power (it was a 430 Scuderia)

Anyway, it was lots of fun and I might give other cars with similar PP and SH tyres a try.

the NSXs are a bit of a puzzle

of course the LM Spec road car kills everything... in fact its probably one of the fastest with sub 1.30s being possible

the 02 model is also a killer but you need to pull a gap midway on if you want to avoid unsportsmanlike blocking moves on the final straight

i tried the Acura 91 NSX... this car is no good!

handling sucks in comparison but i assume you can tune it out

BTR here too. Oil change, otherwise stock except for that rigidity that I'll come around to fixing... First race was a warmup, I saw 11th as a tiny speck when entering the main straight on lap 4 or 5. Up against a 430 Scuderia with my SH tyres I needed to do at least one active block manoeuvre to take the prize.

My 5 year old son made a fluorescent green EK Civic with red wheels and black bonnet. He added all the upgrades including, 'Daddy, I put a big tank on it but I don't know what it is'.

So I had to take the NOS off to do this seasonal, and gave it a basic setup. Fairly convincing win on SH tyres.

First time I tried race was with a Toyota 2000GT (SS tyres), I was well enough in the lead but a Lambo (I think) in second didn't take kindly to my blocking manoeuvre on the last lap and just drove straight through me and spun me into the barrier. :banghead:
