A test of Car wits. . . Maybe just useless info we have that will never use elsewhere

M5 got the question, GTRguy got the bonus.

Since Gil already concurs with the answer, M5 has it.

M5, the answer to your question is COACH. Correct?

Doug the answer is Coach.

This special edition RX 300 features Coach Edition perforated leather-trimmed seats with Coach-embossed headrests. The Coach name also is carried on front door badging and floor mats. The Coach name is synonymous with distinguished leather products and has been featured on several special-edition Lexus products since 1996.

Certainly - in fact some (if not all) of the Coach Lexuses came with a free set of wonderfully expensive leather Coach luggage. The Coach RX300:

Subtle! Anyway - well done. Your turn. :)

Bwahahaha! Beat GTR_guy by less than a minute! :D

"I'll take Racing History for $500, Alex"

Judged on the single criteria of most sanctioned races won by a single model, this car is widely believed to be the "winningest" race car in the history of auto racing.

I'll give you a hint: the marque has a long history and is the subject of several attempts at resurrection.

Sorry, nope.

Hint #2: The marque now belongs to the VW Group.

Bah - knew it was Bugatti. Can't say as I know the car, though (unless Skoda has a history I'm unaware of).

Guys, I'm not only looking for a marque, but the actual name of the car.
I only said Bugatti because I don't know the model of the car you're looking for. The members of VAG are Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat, Lamborghini, Bugatti and Bentley - certainly it can't be anything but Bugatti, who went bankrupt in the early 1990s and was rescued from the dead by then-VAG CEO (and brilliant strategist) Ferdinand Piech.

BUGATTI_Type_35_7.jpg

The Bugatti Type 35 is the most successful race car of all time. It was introduced in 1927 and raced well into 1939. It has an astonishing 2,000+ race victories to its credit.

Since no one come up with the correct answer, I'll ask the next question..

In 1967, GM made a fire breathing race engine available for the Corvette Stingray. The motor was rated at "430" hp, but made closer to 560 hp. It was blueprinted, balanced, had an alloy head, forged crank and ran on 103 octane gas.

What was this engine option called?

L88. The motor was rated under peak performance. Everybody knows this; it's from a time when stuff was faster. And bigger. And whatever.

Yeah, it wasn't street-legal either :D

You're up, Doug.

You're up, Doug.

Similar to my last one:

- In 1997 (and maybe 1995, 1996 and 1998), Jeep contracted with a rugged, trendy company to build a series of special edition Grand Cherokee models. What was the company, and what colour were the seats on these rare models?

I'm going to bed, so just post pictures as proof then another question.
