about Simulation Steering

hello,

Turn10 said this option would turn all aids off. I am the only one thinking it really doesn't, and that damages the gameplay badly (those who enjoyed Shift probably know what I mean) ?

;)

You are correct. I experimented with this quite a bit and having simulation steering on does indeed have some sort of counter active steering assist since I run with everything off. I started with it set to simulation thinking it would have no assists. It clearly has some sort of assist. But now I set it to Normal and its much easier to control the cars. There is FOR SURE some sort of counter steer assist with simulation steering on.

There is yes.Not an assist on purpose but it is there (well, according to Dan) some guys posted videos on youtube and contacted Dan on FB about it and he said they would look into it and try to come up with a fix.

:grumpy:I have noticed this too, to clarify then, if i use my MS wheel its best to stick to 'normal' steering yes?

But if using controller the use 'sim' steering?

I noticed using my wheel when messing about on TG track.
Take a RWD car then start doign donuts in it with wheel turned to left or right full lock..... then mid donut let go of wheel....

The wheel will 'snap' back and start to counter steer itself!!!!!!

opps....

hope the fix this. :grumpy:

absolutly love this game though, not just a game, its a lifestyle, petrolheads playground.

they will "fix" an assist that wasn't supposed to be there at the first place?
I don't care how accessible the game COULD be, but it's too bad they don't think enough about true simers addicts (and the same goes for PD too, don't get me wrong)

You do realise that happens in real life, yes?

Yes, it wasn't supposed to be there.Given the fact there are other strange behaviours with the 900 steering wheels i suppose it some sort of bug.Actually it affects other wheels as well. They should just make a patch to remove everything in wheels in simulation mode.People that want to play with a controller use the normal mode.

I began the first races with a pad on simulation mode (now I have the wheel). I supposed it's harder here and there than the normal mode, yes it's possible to spin the cars by countersteering too much (or rather, for too long), that said there is still a LOT of assist in it, way too much IMHO. Nowhere near the tip-toeing you need (to drive properly) in Shift

In the worst case fix is not possible if forza uses some "pseudo physics workaround" that requires this assist for simulation stability or other reasons.

I am waiting for this and fanatec wheel support be patched before I buy the game. Of course I just might play forza with pad, the way it clearly is meant to be played.
