you are probably tired of answering this question ... but where do i START when tuning a car? and where do i go from there?

thanks.

It doesn´t matter at all! If you are set to tune your car with all the best parts, the order of purchase has no difference at all.

Are you asking which parts to buy or how to actually tune the car itself once the parts have been bought?

If its the parts to buy, then as Team666 has said as far as power goes the order you purchase them in does not matter. Apart from that I would advice a balance, rather that just throwing all your money at power upgrades. Power is only any good if you can get it down on the road.

If its settings and tuning advice you are looking for, my I recomend my GT4 Tuning guides, simply click on the link in my signature and download them. It consists of two .pdf documents with lots of help and advice. Hopefully you will find it useful.

Any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

yeah, Scaff, i'm going to check out your guides. Thanks.

But before i do, i have one more question ... Downforce ... i'm currently racing with a Mazda MX-5 Miata 1800 RS (J) ... its upgrades are:

exhaust & air filter: racing
NA Tuning: Stages 1-3
Port Polish
Engine Balance
Race Chip
Nitro
Transmission: Close
Transmission: Full Cust.
Clutch: Triple Plate
Flywheel: Racing
Limited Slip: Full Cust.
Racing Brakes
Turbine Kit: stage 2-3
suspension: full cust.
sports tires medium & a set of racing tires: supersoft
Weight reduction thru stage 3
increase rigidity
roll cage

now... yet i still cant tune the downforce of my car. what upgrade do i need in order to tune that up?

Wing shop. Some people call them spoilers, some people call them wings. It shows a picture of the wing when you select it...

And good luck.

oh thanks ... i have one more question and i think i'll be set.

NA TUNING vs TURBINE KIT

is there a preference? i notice when i have one equipped the other is automatically dequipped. owever, having the turbine kit on gives more HP.

It can depend on the car and personal preference. The turbo will (normally) give you more power, but only above a certain rpm point. NA tuning generally gives you a more smooth delivery of the power increase.

The above is of course a very general statement, the best advice I can give you is to pick a car and try a few laps with each, see which you like best.

Just remember the extra power is only any use if you can control it.
