Aero parts, newbie question

Just starting to get into drag racing, and was wondering if the aero parts bought from GT Auto have any affect on performance.

I know the rear wing effects performance by adding downforce, but do the front bumper/side skirts, rear bumper, and extension options have any effect? Do they add any downforce, drag, and/or weight, or are they just purely visual?

Some people swear that they increase the wind resistance. Haven't tested it, but I believe it.

The front bumper and rear bumper produce noticeable drag on ssr7, but I'm not sure there is any effect at Indy because the speeds are lower.

it does affect it, i tried the lip or rear diffuser on my vette and gtr, it got slower in the tunnel

If you are running in SSR7 dont buy extra aero parts. If the car already owns them, set them in the lowest numbers.

For Indy, A rear-wing will help you to have more traction in rear wheel cars. It's a great idea for muscle cars.

For ssr7 i dont have any aero or body kits what so ever. Little bit shame though, because the car looks more tricked out with carbon front lip.

Hmm well that's disappointing. Even though they should affect performance, I was hoping aero parts were just visual in gt5, since they're so minimal...oh well.
