After thirteen years I return to the tracks

That's right. The year was 1997 and my friend had bought Gran Turismo on the PS1. I couldn't believe the graphics and the game seemed very realistic. I remember we played the h out of that game. Always driving one of the Nissan cars or the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo (one of the models anyways). As I'm typing this I recall racing through a tunnel and then through a long stretch with some bumps and thick forest on either side. Awesome game. I can't remember why because I owned a PS1 myself but somewhere along the road the GT series was gone. I lost all interest in it and I wasn't really looking forward to GT2. I can't even remember it coming out. Through the years I owned the PS2 and I've seen the different "spec" games come out now and then but I never had any interest at all really. This christmas my bro got me the Driving Force GT for PS3. I just mentioned how cool it would be to have a wheel for the old games one day and on christmas eve he'd bought it for me. I hooked it up and bought GT5 prologue. I'd tried that before but with a pad and it wasn't any fun. The wheel has changed the way I look at racing games. It's like someone put a big bunch of fun in my lap. I've never owned a wheel because I've not had any interest trying it out. I don't have the drivers license in real life and I'm not that interested in learning how to drive. Plus it's expensive and I don't really need it. But boy I'm back on track for the GT5 release. I've been checking out youtube vids and this forum and googling to try to learn how to drift properly with the wheel. I can't seem to get a hang of it. It's not that hard with the pad. I've almost finished the S class. I'm not a hardcore racer like you guys probably are but I'm having a h of a time with GT5. For me it's about the overall driving experience and the realistic graphics. I usually play RPGs, shooters and a TON of LBP but I'm absolutely buying GT5 and I might get hold of another game as well. I really loved the shift demo. I want to try Dirt 2 with the wheel but there's no demo on the PS3. I played LBP with the wheel. Works "great" :D

Hello again Gran Turismo, it's been tooooo long XD

Welcome back to the world of GT BasketSnake :)

And what a great time to be coming back to the series as GT5 looks as if it's going to be one fantastic game :D

Noticed in your post that you want to try Dirt 2 but can't find the demo.

If you go into the Playstation Store, and look under the driving section, the last time I looked there was a downloadable demo of the game, which I might add is great fun with the wheel, although it has a totally different feel from the ffb in GT5P. 👍

Hope you find the demo and have fun with the wheel :D

The demo is still available on the UK store, so it would be odd if you couldn't still get it. Did you look under D for it, because if you did, it's no wonder you couldn't find it. Have a look under C for Colin McRae: DiRT 2.;)

Also, Welcome to :gtpflag: BasketSnake.
