The big problem is... there's still no viable long term solution. Well, at least until oil-shale mining becomes cost-effective, then OPEC will have a little something to worry about.

RE: Garage... well, I'm definitely better off than most, but I don't live in the city. Even in rural areas, motorized travel isn't that uncommon... all you really need is: A. a motor and B. wheels. You can make a motor vehicle out of a 50 cent bike and a gasoline water pump or generator... or even a second or thirdhand hand tractor.

Plus, you can't underestimate the effect of motorbikes. Yes, rural areas have bumpy roads, but if you've got a mode of transport that drinks very little gas and can go anywhere there are foot trails, you've got a huge thirst for gasoline, as lots of people will have them. The boom has happened in other developing countries already, and it's starting here and in Vietnam. Africa? I honestly don't know, but then, it's unfair to compare them to the relatively well-off South Americans and Asians.

Bob from Iran will be gone soon..the people are restless..he has been playing his games while all the ecomomic progress he promised in Iran has been ignored. His own party may off him ..things are VERY bad in Iran..while he spends all his countries money on a race with the US he cant even hope to win. He is like a pimple on the butt of an elephant. California alone has a GDP about 20 times his whole country. As far as Dico Chavez...LOL...go for it moron..you are driving your country into the dark ages economicly and forcing much needed focus in the US on alternatives to Oil..get used to living in slums...hope you can learn to eat petroleum.

I see two self desructive idiot Idealogs....not long for this world.

Happy happy joy joy....
