AI waits before it rejoins track

I was doing the latest Stars and Stripes races at Interlagos. The Cobra was the lead AI, but disappeared after I overtook him and he ended up finishing 9th. I watched the video to see what happened.



Has it always done this? If so, I've never noticed it before.

I've definitely seen this behavior before when off-line. Can't remember if it was in custom race mode, arcade single race mode or GT League mode though. It did seem quite pronounced with cars seeming to wait quite a long time (longer than necessary) before returning.

Yeah, there was definitely a gap for the Cobra to rejoin before the last car passed.

Damn, the AI is smarter and fairer than most GTS players

But this definitely happened to me before. I was wondering why the leader was last at the end of the race and watched the replay. He waited to join the track same as in your clip. A little too overcautious in my opinion

I had this happen too, it was a golf on the second to final corner on Maggiore Central II. He was mid pack when he spun and I was going to lap him, I parked to see how long he'd wait but as soon as I stopped he had finally rejoined. How polite?

Here is a photo I took of an AI driver coming back on to the track at Willow Springs. He was going so fast he completely jumped the track right in front

So this is definitely something new.

It remind me the behavior of the BSpec in GT5 when it used to go off the track it waited all the other cars before return on the track..

Something is wrong with the AI, they are behaving weird since the update.

An AI just cut the track at Monza and rammed into me, never saw such cheap moves by the AI in the game, probably just a rare situation.

Sounds nothing like the real car unless you hold down the accelerator and hold the break . I would know since that's the going up curb/ speed bump ritual if you try to give it ANY gas without some breaking action it, the wheels will spin. I wonder if GTS simulates this. Put it on an incline and see if it spins if you give it gas from a dead stop . It should. FKn hell spawn car.

EDIT: Mods is something wrong with the site, it's been incredibly slow the past 3 days , and it's not me. Its slow on my phone, its slow on my pc, and it was slow at my universities Wifi on my phone .
And every other website works just fine.

I tried one of the Stars & Stripes races on the new Blue Moon course and watched the race leader drive straight on at the final left hander leading back onto the banking. Just plowed into the wall. Quite comical until I couldnt avoid their wreckage.

I can confirm 100% they wait, a Hell cat took out a 02 Viper and they both just waited until we all passed them like good boys.

The AI did this in GT2, GT3, GT4 and GT5 , didn't see it GT6 though

I can't remember what it was like in the earlier games but I know it happened in GT6. I took this picture ages ago because it surprised me that the Cerbera (piloted by AI) sat and waited for both the McLaren and myself (black NSX in the background, far left) to pass by before re-entering the track.
