What is he saying on reddit?
I quickly skimmed through his comments, mostly just insights on the track environment art he worked on, but this comment stood out.
I’ve explained already that there are reasons why we went with this direction, and that OG GV would never live up to the standards (see my reply about nostalgia). That being said, I’m happy we got to bring this track back to GT, and I’m excited to see everyone’s reactions to the coming free updates.
Considering he's a 3D technical artist who has worked on previous tracks, this comment would seem to imply that something new he worked on is coming soon.

I'm curious if he offered any other fun facts and insights on track development on his reddit account

Does PD think that actual racetracks aren't "interesting" enough or what? I really don't think that mashing together Grand Valley with the California coast did anything for either and I don't think it's just "nostalgia" to say that they really need to get off the trend of fake-looking road courses they keep making lately.

The Olympic Council of Asia has announced that Gran Turismo 7 will be an e-sport title for the 2026 Asian Games:

OCA announces e-sports titles for 2026 Asian Games

Kuwait City, Kuwait, February 22, 2025: The Olympic Council of Asia has announced the 11 e-sports titles to be contested at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan in 2026.

In a circular dated February 22 to member National Olympic Committees, Executive Board members, Chairs of the OCA Standing Committees and the Vice President for the Asian Games Organizing Committee, OCA Director General Husain Al Musallam said that an Emergency Executive Board meeting had been held online on Saturday, February 22 and unanimously approved the following 11 titles:

Sports Programme:
1. Competitive Martial Arts (Team Competition) Only one medal
i) Street Fighter Series
ii) Tekken Series
iii) King of Fighter Series
2. Pokemon Unite
3. Honor of Kings
4. League of Legends
5. PUBG Mobile - Asian Games Version
6. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
7. Identity V: Asian Games Version
8. Naraka: Bladepoint
9. Gran Turismo (7)
10. Efootball Series
11. Puyo Puyo Champions

The 20th Asian Games will take place from September 19 to October 4, 2026.

E-sports was introduced to the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta-Palembang in 2018 as a demonstration sport and became a full medal sport, with seven titles, at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023.

Hopefully Not!
Well,
The 2026 Asian Games will feature competitions in 41 sports, including esports, and will take place from September 9 to October 4.
I obviously do not know when or if a next GT game will be announced, but even if the next GT is announced next year, probably won't be arriving in before those dates above. If it does then cool. We'll see.

The 2026 Asian Games are being hosted in the prefecture where Toyota (the manufacturer) are headquartered, by the way. Toyota (the city) is even hosting some of the events.

I wouldn't be expecting any other manufacturer to be making an appearance in that event.

This is good news in my opinion. Listening to the player base on how to manage the game (or any game for that matter) is a terrible idea.
Indeed, there is a world between telling what you gonna do and asking for what some want.
The loudest ones are not necessary representative.

Kaz is not eternal and will eventually give its place to someone else, an other Japanese executive I hope. Part of the spirit of the game comes from there. Though, this shouldn't prevent them from communicating from time to time.

Look like GT7 will be around for a while.
This means GT8 will be around by 2027 the soonest (Gran Turismo 30th anniversary), and rumors say the PS6 could come by then.

GT7 could potentially end with around 600+ cars by the end of its lifetime, with GT8 going back to GT4 levels (over 700+ cars).

Ahead of Thursday's update, I've decided to measure popularity of each car added in 2024's (and in January 2025) update(s) by counting (visible) shared content pages among four shared content types (liveries/styles, scapes, race photos, and replays), a method I did for EVs in GT7 (as well as for 2022-mid 2023 update cars) earlier, and then averaging them.

And when you see the Jinmy and the Hiace at the top pf the list is easy to understand why we are receiving some of these "not usual" cars🙌🏻🙌🏻

It's sad to hear PS4 is being that big of a limitation for what we get in the game. Making GT7 cross platform was a terrible decision by Sony. Maybe not for sales, I guess, but for quality of the game for sure. Maybe PS4 IS the reason why we don't have Pikes Peak after all. I think when cross platfrom was announced many believed it wasn't the intention from the very beginning. What if Pikes Peak was supposed to be in the game initially but was simply cut due to PS4 limitations?

Seems a little weird to blame PS4 given PCars 2 has a couple of long A-B routes, one of which being California Highway.

It's probably just not a simple direct comparision. It might work when everything inside the game is designed for PS4 with PS4 power in mind, but not work when one tries to fit a PS5 track within PS4 limits. We can speculate on what exactly it means, but either way that comment confirms there are internal difficulties fitting GT7 to PS4 and it affects what content we get.

PCars 2 runs like donkeys and looks absolutely hideous on console and on top of all that, isn't a PS5 game trying to work to the limitations of a 10+ year old console.
It's honestly impressive GT7 looks and runs as good as it does on PS4.

This is of course a bit skewed by the fact that more recent cars have had less time for user content to be created. Also the W196R is only that low because of how expensive it is, combined with the fact that it's not always available to buy.
