Ai

Except how can he mistake an LMP car for a production Vette, or a 1.5 mile oval course for a 3 mile undulating fantasy road course? :)

But as far as 1 pit stop, yes I forgot about the 150 mile speedway event, and because the AI uses the Super-Hard racing tires for that race which is a nicely banked oval that is less strain on the rubber, and the drafting allows for better fuel mileage, I suspect there are a handful of LMP cars that could go 75 miles before pitting... just like we can and our B-spec driver can... so even then the AI has no advantage or unrealistically long periods between pit stops. 👍

What car was it that took 52 laps though, if you can tell me, I don't have GT4, since I sold it for GT1, 2, and 3. I know there was that car that took only one pit stop in an endurance race, on lap 52. I could've sworn it was a corvette.

In GT3, the Gillet Vertigo only takes one stop in the Laguna enduro...but I don't know about GT4.

Actually in the 1000 Miles! events, a Lotus Elan S1 only takes one pit stop at Paris-Opera. And the 'ring as well.

In addition, there is no way of telling with any certainty what other modifications the AI have added to their cars that have no impact on HP but do impact performance, like brakes, drivetrain, suspension, weight reduction, etc. 👎

Adding to this problem is the fact that even the HP of the AI cars is hard to find out because they only list it for the last car in the field when you select “Preview”. This means it could take several dozen times of starting and stopping a preview before finally getting all the HP stats for a race with only 15 or so cars that the AI can use in that race. 👎

I know I HATE that! GT1 was the BEST here...it included not only all the Ai cars, but detailed their horsepower and weight as well in an easy-to-read list. It's just ridiculous this got dropped and makes subsequent GT games feel just a tad arcadish. Real-life pit crew, race marshals, and drivers usually know what their competition is boasting..they have to. It's an effort to keep others from cheating.

I actually am one of those folks who will sit there for up to an hour resetting the preview over and over just to get a clue about the Ai...I've done it for the 1000 Miles races, Grand Valley 300, and Laguna Seca 200. I just feel it's an important step to know my competition as thoroughly as I can before the race. 💡

Ohh, I might just buy GT4 again to try it out, I believe you, but I stll want to see how a fully tuned Lotus Motorsport Elise on the same tires as the Vette, with great settings for less sloppy handling, still pits much earlier than a Vette. Thanks for your information Digital-Nitrate, always making an informative post here. 👍 I do remember a car going for a VERY long time without pitting, I will go find that out later. 💡 Thanks for the info, I hate typing false information...

Ohh yeah, that must have been it! :) I still love GT2 more than GT4.

You and your realism... :P

I personally hate the AI pitting system. I could use the same car as them and they end up pitting 10 laps after me.
Please read through the thread. You'll find that the AI pitting "system" is the same for B-spec and A-spec.

If the AI is pitting 10 laps after you then you are either not in the same car, not using the same tires, not using the same mods, not using the same tuning/set-up, and/or not driving the same way.

The only advantage the AI has as far as tire wear is that they drive much more consistently, and less aggressive than most pleople playing games like GT, which allows the AI to extend their tire wear and fuel consumption. Like your B-spec driver with decent skill points, if you drive the exact same car and set-up and drive the same way as the AI you'll have the same rate of tire wear and fuel consumption as the AI. 👍

The problem with Bob is that he drives like a sissy, just like the AI. He often has trouble at a race, then I enter it and beat it with no problem.
