air of experience: an experiment

Remote racing doesn't add to the exp bar but it does increase the number of races/wins.

500 races was about accurate for me. When my first driver reached about 600 races I got the air of experience trophy. But that included probably about 100 remote races.

Did the trophy pop up during Sunday Cup or after a Remote Race for you?

The odd thing about exp/career bar is:

In my case, got 6 new lvl zero bobs, 1 that grinds, 1 that does only remote races, 4 that dont do shat.

The remote race bob exp/career doest not go up due to being online, but the 4 bobs exp does increase seemingly at the same rate as the actual only productive bob does.

I know its a game, but lvl 0 bobs, that never race should not get exp/career bar increases.

IMHO remote racing doesn't affect the career bar one iota.

I ran through Dream Car a couple of times last night in the X2010, just for cash and it didn't seem to move then.

This morning I'm running my souped up Samba in the Euro championship Cote D'azure and using/not using coaching and the first race with coaching did move the bar on. I have gone to the trouble of sellotaping my tv so I can tell, so it's possible it's moved before and I couldn't tell, although considering I did 10 races you'd expect to see something.

My "Air of experience" trophy has just popped up (halfway through a dream car championship)

Main driver has 240 races
2nd driver has 46 races
3rd driver has 116 races
4th driver has 86 races
5th driver has 74 races
6th driver has 39 races

601 total

The number of races includes remote races and endurance races where more than one driver took part, and my main driver was online for about 2 days whilst I raced other drivers in dream car championship (maybe 4 times for a total of 20 races).

So I would go with the 500 b spec days figure, sounds about right to me. People saying they got it after 230 odd races could be talking about that individual driver and not their whole roster of drivers. People saying they got it after 800 races could have completed 300 remote races or set their main driver to online whilst doing bspec races with their other drivers

General concensus is 500 local b-spec days in total across all your offline drivers.

That is, you have to have manually hit the "start race" button ~500 times in b-spec.

Remote races don't count, but do increase drivers "events won" number, so make it hard to tell when 500 days have passed.

Each offline driver gains a day for each race...you get the trophy when one of them has been offline during 500 race starts, even if he's not the driver that raced every time.

Definitely can't get it remote racing, I went well past 500 and no luck. Sunday Cup Tsukuba, 2 min 30 secs a race grind it out. Even once you fill the bar you have to keep grinding. 👍

I'm using Supercar cup Daytona when I can face the experience grind, adds a minute but gains more cash and experience per race.

Yes, depending on what level your at or if you need money you can grind any race for the trophy. In Caliper's case he mentioned this was the last trophy he needed for platinum, so X1=>Tsukuba is best option for his circumstance.

first time posting for me here, but long time troll.

im lvl 40 in both A & B spec, trying to get the last "air of xp" trophy.

havent been lucky to get it yet, and all the info about getting this trophy is absolutely full of crap, unfounded, cant be validated or able to provide reproducable results.

so. im doing an experiment right now:

1. im level 40 bspec, retired all my old drivers, and got six new level 0 bspecer.
2. all the new drivers have green horizontal arrows on them with zero wins/zero races.
3. im doing the nuremburing 24hr endurance races with 4 racers with the X1.

hypothesizes: of course all the drivers will jump up in level to maybe somewhere in the 20s; all the drives should have 1/1 in win/race ratio; BUT i want to see the experience/carrer bar variations, maybe due to their differing personalities.

the race finishes at 3p monday est. ill post results.

You should not have retired your older drivers.

To get this you will need 500 race days (500 offline races) to have taken place since the creation of your oldest driver on your roster (i.e. not retired)

That's how I got mine.

500 combined off line races? Meaning the total of all of your drivers off line events? Or one driver has to complete 500?

Does putting your driver in an online race start him back at 0?

It doesn't start him back at zero it freezes the bar where its at. If your going for the trophy don't factor in the remote races. They don't count towards it.

Total of 500 races, starting from the birth of a certain driven. Putting him online will stop counting races against his ststs (for this trophy's purposes), but will not reset it to zero. It will start counting again when he goes offline.

ok, finally did it, in the end it took 494 races to get the trophy

I had done approximately 50+ remote races, so it doesn't seem you need exactly 500 offline days.

It appears just like the flawed XP, longer events give more experience to Bob + offline days. I left Bob running at night 9h endurance and in the days I set him on the Dream Car Championship, it seem to made the experience bar go quicker. I just couldn't sit doing the Clubman event every 2 min like a zombie.

Not sure if any of the above is true. I am level 40 b spec. Seems that no matter which offline b spec race any of my bobs run, the experience bar under them does not move anymore. My bob's are level 30 thru 36, with between 7 wins/108m races, and 119 wins/643 races. Bob 35 ran 4 hrs of ring today, no experience bar increase. Indy 500 last nite, no experience bar change. maybe endurance races no longer count? Or, no change because I am level 40?

I'm now completely confused by this B-Spec aging thing. My eldest B-Spec driver is just below Level 33 and all of a sudden has become painfully slow. Yesterday, he was finishing remote races consistently first. Today, he is consistently last.

He has only participated in 251 races and his career bar is roughly 1/3 of the way towards complete (despite having participated in most B-Spec races...only has two Endurance Races to go). None of my other bobs have even crossed the 100 race mark yet.

So is that all you did? Your experience bars are way up for so few races AND drivers at level 40. So it seems like the trophy comes from filling Bob's experience bar.

Some people refer to a "career" bar, but I've not seen anything labeled that, are they talking about the experience bar?

Depends which country you're in whether it says career or exp. In Aus it's "Career".

It says "Career", not "Experience" on the "GT5 My Home" web page

Do you have US version of game? I still don't see anything labeled career bar. It's of no consequence, I'm just curious to see it if it is indeed a different bar than the experience one.

I have the U.S. version. What I meant to say is that it says "Experience" in the game, but "Career" on the web page.

I set up a secondary account so I could remote race against all of my Bobs and noticed that my eldest (now level 33) may still have some life in him after all. Despite going off track at least once a race, he still finishes in the top 3...a very different result than when I trigger remote races from my main account (where he still consistently finishes last). He also doesn't appear completely useless in offline B-Spec events. Not sure what is going on

I have notice when I was racing my main 3 and had 2 off they do get experience if you dont run them. So its not how much you run him its how much you dont run him that you can get it, I had a Level 0 and the exp was where about to where one of my level 16 drivers.

PAL versions have "Career" instead of "Experience".

It makes more sense because experience is the level of the Bob.
yep
