AK47 assault rifle designer Kalashnikov dies at 94

I don't even know what I was trying to prove. Just saying I prefer the M-16 over the AK-47. It's a terrorists, communists, and gangsters weapon, but I prefer the acuracy of the M-16.

Terrorists, communists and gangsters eat and breath also. So you going to stop eating and breathing now?

A gun is nothing more than a tool. Just because some bad apples uses a particular tool does not make the tool itself bad.

Rapper 50 Cent also knows about AK's, here is what he had to say...

Me I'm no mobsta, me I'm no gangsta
Me I'm no hitman, me I'm just me, me
Me I'm no wanksta, me I'm no acta
But it's me you see on your TV
Cause I hustle baby, this rap ---- is so easy
I'm gettin' what you get for a brick to talk greasy
By any means, partner, I got to eat on these streets
If you play me close, for sure I'm gonna pop my heat
------s saying they going murd' 50, how?
We riding 'round with guns the size of Lil Bow Wow
What you know about AK's and AR 15's?
Equipped with night vision, shell catchers and F-bangs, huh????

Nothing of what you posted says anything about AKs other than naming the firearm, "AK"

Why are you just quoting random rap songs that says nothing anyways?

RIP Kalashnikov.

RIP Kalashnikov.

I feel the AK is a good weapon, don't get me wrong. I'm just an M-16 guy, I had to eat and sleep with an M-16 when I served in Afghanistan.

It's like the difference between Being an Elvis man, or a Beatles man, both are great musicians but I prefer Elvis.

The rap music is just songs I remember that mentioned AK-47s, the songs have no point at all to me, if I had the chance to add an AK-47 in my arsenal, it would serve as a good backup. But I still would not use an AK-47 as my primary weapon.

R.I.P Mr.Kalashnikov, you was a great man and a amazing inventor of a legendary rifle we know today as the AK-47 and his other versions like the AK-74, AKS and AKM.

:( R.I.P Mikhail, you will be missed.

Who is the origin of this quotation? Is it acceptable?
What, sounds cynic? Well, this is credited to Anatoly Wasserman, a Russian political pundit.

The only sad part of this news to me is the fact I know the man was under appreciated and under paid for his work due to the failure of a system he was a slave to, had he been American he might have designed the rifle for the west, they might have adopted the rifle, and he would have more than likely been a multi-millionaire for his efforts.
It's often told that "if Kalashnikov lived in America, he'd be a billionaire". But in my first post in this thread, I already told why he didn't regret not becoming rich.
I don't think he was a slave. At least he never complained about it (even after the collapse of the Soviet Union). And he was a true communist himself. He once said in an interview:
I'm a communist since 1952. In a country ruled by communists, me - the seventeenth child in a peasant family - managed to become a small arms designer, rise to the top of the professional art. Under the guidance of the Communist Party, my generation has won in the terrible war, built a great superpower, put the road to space for the mankind, created the world's best models of machinery. We still live with this great Soviet legacy. And today, the Russian communists are the constructive power intended to revive the pride of our country. I am sure: the communists won't let us down!
Kalashnikov was never underappreciated, he's been awared a lot of medals, prizes and other honors.
But unerpaid... maybe. The problem was that AK wasn't copy-protected well, and was manufactured in many places of the world without a licence. So the country didn't make good money on it, too.

Don't forget his machine guns lineup, too. My friend had fired a PKM in the military. Awesome and powerful thing, he said.

Mr. Kalashnikov did what was asked of him and he did so with flying colors. It's not his fault that his creation went into the hands of the wrong people.

That's like blaming Henry Ford for the victims of drunk driving.

RIP.
