Greetings to the board,

Just thought I'd introduce my real life cars.

'99 NISSAN SKYLINE R34 GTR

The first one is a '99 Nissan Skyline R34 GTR which I've had since January 2006 and spent some major money to modify it to my liking. At present the car's pushing about 520 PS and 580 Nm, but spec-wise it's capable of some 100 PS more with just a remap.

'99 MASERATI 3200 GT

The other one is my most recent purchase, a '99 Maserati 3200 GT that I bought at the end of August. It's still completely standard apart from an Alpine stereo head-unit mounted by the previous owner, though I do have some great plans for its future.

Cheers for the comments guys, it's most appreciated. I'm glad you like them.

You are lucky to have a Maserati

Luck's got nothing much to do with it, really, as you just need the leisure and the money to go buy one. But it's a wonderful car and I absolutely love driving it. Although I know for a fact that it isn't, it actually feels faster than my GTR.

Cool rides there man! im in Love with your R34! Imo its just how it suppose to be! apart from the higher mounted rear spoiler though, i like it stock better.

and the 3200GT still is my favorite maserati. love the tail lights and overal design of those.

but really the maserati feels faster? wtf!:)
in what way?

how can 370 feel faster then 520hp?
490nm vs 580nm.

i got an R33 GTR V-spec and i havent felt anything like it before except for a few higher hp skylines. it just keeps pushing you into the seat and it has tons of grip.

i do know that in a skyline GTR the way you sense speed is diffrent, 120km/h seems to be like 80 or someting if you know what i mean, its quite relaxing to drive.
but i cant imagine that a maserati is that much diffrent.:)

one day i want a r34 gtr, but till then i just keep enjoying the r33:)

Cheers for the compliments, mate.

With the GTR I had my mind set on modifying to what I think it should have been like from factory. It's basically finished and just need some further CF bits and a remap, but I doubt I'll ever complete the project now since I bought the 3200 GT. Truth be told, the GTR is up for sale as I'm nowadays a student and I could use the money.

I know it's weird, but the 3200 GT really do feel like it's quicker than the GTR, however odd that may sound. My guess is that it's due to engine characteristics. In fact, a friend of mine that until recently had a 750 PS R33 GTR V-spec thought the 3200 GT felt almost as quick as his car.

I can tell you that the Maserati leaves you even more 'speed blind' than the Nissan, but that may be due to the hard suspension settings on the latter's part. I basically adjusted them to the hardest settings - very hard, running over a zebra crossing make you fear all your teeth will shake loose - and they kind of got stuck there.

The 3200 GT really bites the dust when it comes to cornering, however, as the GTR handles very much like a flat-iron.
