Cool little car. Pretty much the 147 GTA (one of the best modern Alfa's IMO) in the 156 body. Definitely voted!

I assume they wanted the same engine as the 147 GTA and didn't feel it needed any more power.

It's front-wheel drive. More power would mean more torque (which would be bad) or more revs (which would be a bad idea) or both (which would be worse). A different engine would have increased development costs and price.

It's just the 4 door saloon version of the 3 door 147 hatch. No need to change anything and make it even more expensive to build.


If you want a 156 GTA with more power, Autodelta made one with a 3.7 litre V6 and 395hp...

Yeah, the GTA don't need more power than this, it's fast enough too

250 hp / 6200 rpm and 300 Nm / 4800 rpm isn't bad from a 3179cc V6 with DOHC (Dual overhead camshaft) and the 6-speed manual gearbox does get enough speed to the 1410 kg body , 0-100 km/h at 6,3 sec isn't bad not either the top speed of 250 km/h, so the car has my vote

Although it is heavier, it features longer wheelbase and wider tracks, so there should be differences on corners if it is already inferior to 147 GTA on straights.
