Yesterday, there was this Alfa Romeo event at the Autódromo do Estoril. To be honest, it wasn't a regular track day but more of a "track experience", where Alfa Romeo made some MiTo's, Giulietta's and 4C's available for some laps around the track.
Also, towards the end of the day, Alfa Romeo had the track reserved to give registered members the opportunity to lap the circuit for a few minutes, on their own cars.
My brother was the one who followed the whole thing from the beginning and registered himself, along with our fathers' car - an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde. Just at the last minute did I decide to go with him, mostly to take some photos and just maybe - if I was lucky - to go with him in the passenger seat.
Anyway, it turned out that I ended up having the opportunity to actually driving around the circuit (4 laps) on our Giulietta QV.
It's a shame that Autódromo do Estoril isn't in the GT series, or I'd know the track a little better. But still, I had a blast.
After the first lap I started to properly use the whole width of the track and really putting some speed into the corners. The Giulietta QV, while completely stock, already has a decent suspension and brakes suitable for a track, and the 235hp of the 1750 Turbo Benzina doesn't leave you with the impression that you're underpowered for such a big track. We were really proud of it.
I just wish I had the opportunity to drive the 4C - that thing looked and sounded amazing.
Oh, and me being me, this thread couldn't be without photos - and lots of them:
