The weekend of June 27-29, the ALMS held a series of races leading up to the Chevy Grand Prix of Atlanta Endurance Race on Sunday. This, is that weekend. The race aired that Sunday, if anybody saw it, it was on CBS i believe. Anywho, he are some pictures from that weekend.

One of the LMP900 cars, the #30 Intersport Lola, coming up the back straightaway. This was on Saturday, it rained on and off most of the morning, but it dried up mostly by the afternoon.

One of the team FBR/Trans Sport IS300's, coming around the first half of the hairpin leading onto the back straightaway.

Two Star Mazda series, open-wheel carts coming over the last hill before the last turn onto the front straight. The SMS cars are all powered by the RX-8's Renesis engine, and are all prepared the same to show the driver's skill, rather than the car's preformance.

A collection of cars ranging from GT to GTS to LMP900, coming in and out of the turn 10a/10b section. The Red Ferrari in the foreground is about to head up the hill that is pictured in the above photo.

This is Saturday morning, and as i had previously stated, it rained that morning. It was really cool seing all the cars with their headlights on kicking up rooster tails and stuff. You can see the rain collected on the track in the background.

Same day, a little bit later when sun began to peak around. I like this picture because its very sharp, but only the car. The best shots are the ones where the car is the only thing thats really sharp and clear. Everything else is just a blur.

This is the same turn as the red Ferrari is on in the picture in the previous post. I stayed here for a while and got a bunch of pictures, its a very excting point of the track. It got a few from the other side too.

Coming into that turn. If you can tell in that picture, the vette's left-rear corner is torn up. He blew a tire and it messed him it up pretty bad. Fortunately though, he teammate won the race!

Here he is. Yep, you could smell the rubber when he drove by. I saw his car after the race and scoped out the damage, it was pretty torn up.

Ouch.
That must of cost him some time in the pits.
There's a hell of a lot of crap at the chicane in the picture with the Silver Ferrari 360 Modena (i think it's a 360 anyway). Looks like a nice diverse grid and line up of cars.
Who won?
I take it they were using the whole international circuit and not the short one, did you see all of it?
