ROAD_DOGG33J, thanks for clearing that up. I assumed that IMSA was going to add more weight or whatever else they can think of to slow the C6.Rs down. I can't really remember if the Vipers were rewarded with some weight or some restrictions during their streak.
Pirelli and Aston Martin really need to address the issue with their tires. Even with their weight advantage, they almost gave the GT1 win to the Corvettes because it seemed like the Pirellis were once again going away in the end. I'm not against the wide diversity of tire makes in the series, but I think Aston Martin needs to make a "competition adjustment" of their own and switch back to Michelin tires.
Like I said before, the race was quite entertaining. I know this was considered a sprint race, but the ALMS is still endurance-type racing. Seeing the Aston Martin win by 0.033s was very exciting.
As for GT2, Risi Competizione, even with two cars, still has no luck. They're always fast (usually the fastest) going into the race, but there are always problems during the race. Panoz didn't perform as well as I was expecting, but with a very competitive class like GT2, they'll have some bad races. Also, what's going on with Alex Job Racing?
One last thing; Did anyone else feel like they missed out on a lot of things during the race? I mean, with all of the off-track interviews, condensed coverage, and never-ending promoting of CBS shows
during the race, it seems like I didn't see much of the race at all. It's probably just me. I can't wait until the series coverage returns to Speed.
