Went to Vermont a few weeks ago for a vacation. Decided to have more of a go at landscape photos. Did more photos of waterfalls than foliage, despite the time of year.

Also stopped by Vermont Institute of Natural Science's birds of prey exhibit.

Here's a photo I took during my stay in Barcelona last March. Tried to capture a certain "style" of a scene here, at least it should give the viewer some sort of impression of a urban, somewhat hollow scene.

Not been much motorsport this year so not a lot of photography for me. The British Rallycross Championship ran its second and third rounds earlier this month and, although there were no spectators, I was fortunate enough to get an invite. Took a few pictures, here are a couple of faves...

...now the long wait for some racing (and hopefully some normality) next year!

Been freezing over here in England was a powder coating of snow as I walked through the park yesterday, feeling the burn of a third lockdown... stay safe folks.

Some macro shots I've taken in the last four months.

I need to get a proper flash and diffuser :/ I keep flattening my images or blowing them out.

Anyone know what kind of insect this is?

Snowflakes are so hard to capture. The plane of focus is only a few milimeters wide. I'm getting the hang of it though

This caveman studio shooter took his little toy outdoors for the first time.

It wasn't snowing so I had to try simulating it on a 10s timer.

Very convincing, yeah??? :P

I gave up after this because hands were getting uncomfortably cold. I really want to try this again, preferably on a snowy evening/night.

My very first Salmon fly style fly, tied it as a gift for my folks.

That is way too pretty to use! <3

Thanks, been trying to think more about perspective and light, im always walking the same areas so I keep trying to figure ways of making shots different, still lots to learn.

That tower shot framed by the top of the gate/fence is my favourite one. 👍

Also it's good that you're shooting the same areas. They always offer new angles, keep at it!

That shot is trencherfield mill back in the 1800's it produced cotton from giant steam powered machines, the canals I walk along brought coal by barge (which was mined locally) then shipped the cotton to liverpool where it was dispatched all over the world.

Been snapping some of the post industrial places in my town today the old crumbling mills are slowly being taken back by nature or converted to accommodation now. I couldnt help thinking walking around Eckersley Mill what hard lives the people who worked there must have lead... long hours, choking fumes, loud noise and danger, all endured for low pay too...

The art of procrastination... doing anything other than studying; from house chores, to YouTube and GTPlanet, to macro photography :P

Been planning out my garden for this summer, and thought I'd get a head start in preparation by planting cucumbers, tomatoes, parsley and basil in pots in my kitchen. The following images are of some Dutch cucumbers on my kitchen window sill:

Also, my faux leather wallet for good measure. I'm just walking around my house looking for subjects to photograph. I'm going back to my old house in the upcoming week, and I'll make sure to pick up my vinyl record collection; their grooves always make for interesting photos.
