Scientists have announced that the Amazon rain forest has emitted more CO2 last year than the whole of the United States in the same period. Normally the rain forest is a carbon sink, but now it is a net emitter, the reason is because of a massive drought. The last drought in 2005 was called a 1 in 100 year event, the 2010 drought was much worse than the 2005 one...
An author of the study said that if a global increase in CO2 causes the droughts to occur in the forest then it would create a concerning feedback loop.
The study was published in the journal Science.

You need to practice sending links if they're available. Being it is an academic journal it may not be, but surely somebody somewhere has spoken of this study.

The correlation between natural events and CO2 is quite unperceived, to say the least.

I saw something about this on TV a few days ago, and my recollection was that;

...the Amazon rain forest emitted more CO2 last year than motor vehicle emisions in the United States in the same period

Droughts in the Amazon are probably due to La Nina. Which is nothing new and the Amazon has probably released CO2 of these quantities millions of times over, however the earths climate is always changing anyway.
