I appreciate your strong take home point: Jeremy Corbell doesn't want a serious debate, doesn't properly analyze his footage and he should stop doing what he's doing. A firm foundation upon which to rest and go no further. The paradigm is unaffected.

My own take home point: Numerous incidents over many years have forced the pilots, the generals and the politicians to admit the phenomena is real, and now a serious all-of-government investigation is mandated in law by Congress. The people and the mainstream press generally seem to be highly interested and taking this seriously. This is a paradigm shift.
The trouble is, these two points are linked. When's the last time a major media outlet covered this story without showing one or more of Corbell's bunk claims? Why is Corbell using these videos to push the narrative that national security might be at risk, when they likely show nothing of the sort? How much of the recently commissioned government report into these 'phenomena' is based on the same footage that Corbell is constantly pushing - and is their analysis any better than Corbell's (and let's face it, it can't be any worse).

So far, it looks like the conclusions of the US government report is staggeringly bland - no evidence that these objects are anything unusual, but they won't rule out the possibility. That's not so much a paradigm shift as a paradigm firmly planted exactly where it was and has been for years.

If we are going your "UFOs are a US conspiracy" path, then we might want to think more globally than parochially, as the phenomena seems to be global.

Right, because that's not what I said. I suggested that the reports from the US military are orchestrated or manipulated by some agency within the US for their own benefit. You're still trying to paint this idea as a conspiracy, which... sure, whatever. Call a fish a duck if it makes you feel better. But the idea that the US does this sort of thing generally is just a fact, even if they may not be responsible for this specific instance.

To use an analogy that is becoming pleasantly out of date, suspecting Trump of lying isn't a conspiracy even if you discover some specific statements that he made were true.

Are world governments also faking their own UFO incidents to gain more budget and domination over their neighbors? Or is the US faking all the incidents all over the world?

Or do all governments watch each other's behaviour, and have observed such tactics to be a useful tool to generate sufficient public support from their citizenry? World politics does not happen in a vacuum, notice that many other major and minor countries have attempted to emulate the US policies of trying to be the world police to a greater or lesser extent. China's attempts to gain political control through economics, manufacturing and trade are modelled on the success of the US post-WW2. Russia's attempts at installing puppet regimes and supporting friendly insurgents with weapons is likewise something that the US and it's western allies have used heavily.

If the US were to attempt to use UFO sightings as a potential casus belli, you can bet dollars to donuts that some other major power will pick up on it.

You seem awfully keen to attribute all UFO sightings to a single cause. Try some basic logic.
A - The US has stealth aircraft.
B - Objects resembling stealth aircraft have been detected by a large number of countries around the world.
Are these sightings therefore logically all US stealth aircraft?

Of course not, that's absurd. There's nothing that says that ALL stealth aircraft are US stealth aircraft.

UFOs are no different. They're an extremely broad category of observations, and intentionally so. It would be impossible for them all to come from a single source, as we've later discovered what some of them were and they're not all from a single cause. So let's not pretend that there's some magic answer out there that will "solve" UFOs. At best we're looking at identifying what may be behind some small sets of UFOs that share common attributes, and even among them there will likely turn out to be red herrings as more information becomes available.

Still, after all that it may turn out to be the case that no sightings anywhere in the world have been fabricated or misrepresented by the government or any other interested commercial or military parties. Great! Still sort of worth keeping in mind though, right? It's not like it would be terribly hard to do. When you hear hoof beats, think horses not zebras.

Please keep your great questions coming. You are of enormous value to the thread.

Please stop treating me like I'm a child that's just demonstrated that I can do arithmetic in front of my grandparents. If you think what I say has value, then you can show that by simply engaging in discussion in good faith. Your continued gushing that I'm the goodest boy comes off as disingenuous, even if that's not what was intended.

My own take home point: Numerous incidents over many years have forced the pilots, the generals and the politicians to admit the phenomena is real, and now a serious all-of-government investigation is mandated in law by Congress.

Is that so? Would you care to summarise "the phenomena" referred to above in one sentence? ELI5 level is fine.

CNN reports that it has five sources familiar with the upcoming report to Congress and the American people. They emphasize the potential security threat inherent in the reports; a perception that "nobody knows what to do about it"; the apparent greater interest Congress is placing in the problem; and that, whether aliens or earthly agencies behind the situation, "Either way it's really bad."

US intelligence officials have no evidence confirming Navy pilot UFO encounters were alien spacecraft

By Zachary Cohen and Katie Bo Williams, CNN

Updated 7:58 PM ET, Fri June 4, 2021

Washington (CNN)US intelligence officials have found no evidence confirming that unidentified flying objects encountered by US Navy pilots in recent years were alien spacecraft but also have not reached a definitive assessment as to what these mysterious objects might be, according to five sources familiar with the findings of an upcoming report on UFOs that is expected to be delivered to Congress later this month.

According to three of those sources, the report does not however rule out the possibility they are alien spacecraft.
While that uncertainty is likely a blow to the hopes of UFO enthusiasts who were hoping for definitive proof of extraterrestrial life, it does not minimize the significance of the report, especially given what sources describe as a years-long battle inside the Pentagon over whether even to acknowledge what are now hundreds of unexplained sightings by US military personnel.
The New York Times was first to publish details of the upcoming report.

US officials also cannot rule out the possibility that these flying objects were aircraft belonging to American adversaries, namely Russia and China -- a potentially more troublesome conclusion that raises a host of potential national security concerns, one of the sources said.
However, the forthcoming report is expected to conclude that the objects are not secret American technology, the source added.

For the first time, the US government is preparing to issue an extraordinary unclassified report detailing what it knows about a series mysterious encounters with unidentified flying objects, or what are more commonly known as UFOs.

While the report isn't expected to confirm the existence of extraterrestrial life, the mere fact that the intelligence community is set to acknowledge these incidents at all represents a remarkable shift in the way US officials think about this phenomenon.
The US government has long been reluctant to disclose any information related to numerous reported sightings of unidentified flying objects encountered by military pilots in restricted airspace. Multiple sources told CNN that for years the Defense Department has tried to avoid committing too many resources to what still amounts to a fringe priority.
But a steady drumbeat of pressure from lawmakers has now forced the Pentagon and the US intelligence community to acknowledge an uncomfortable truth: these encounters represent a potential security threat that simply cannot be explained.
"The sense I have from the briefings I've sat in on is nobody knows what to do about it. There's not a policy prescription and that's why there is such a hesitancy to deal with the issue," Rep. Michael Waltz, a Republican member of the House Armed Services Committee, told CNN in a recent interview.
"But it's disturbing either way, you know, is this alien life or do adversaries or someone else have capabilities that far exceed anything we have the ability to understand track or counter? Either way it's really bad," said Waltz.

The upcoming report is unlikely to satisfy UFO-ologists who support what's known as "Disclosure," or the government release of definitive evidence that it has been contacted by extraterrestrial life.
"Most people would be hoping for visual evidence of little green men, which is almost certainly not going to be the case," a congressional aide told CNN, referring to expectations about the report's contents.
In fact, multiple sources told CNN that they don't expect the intelligence community to release much specific information at all, partly because if these strange sightings are actually next-gen technology fielded by a foreign adversary, intelligence officials won't want to tip them off on what the US has seen.
Additionally, technical intelligence experts still need more information on some of these encounters to reach a conclusive assessment, an administration official involved in the current investigative efforts said. But the same official also told CNN that many encounters turn out to have perfectly normal explanations, like a weather balloon or a drone. In some instances, sightings have been removed from the US government database tracking these encounters because officials were able to explain them.
Yet multiple unexplainable reports from pilots in recent years led to tension within the Pentagon about how much time and resources to devote to investigating these incidents, according to sources and documents reviewed by CNN.
They also fueled a desire on Capitol Hill for more information and the belief among several key lawmakers that Congress must flex its oversight powers to ensure the issue is being handled appropriately. Requiring production of the upcoming UFO report is one way lawmakers have signaled that they intend to use that authority, sources say.
"One of the functions of a course like this is that it forces actual coordination within the agencies and makes clear that Congress is actually serious about its oversight function and that there's going to be increased scrutiny along the way," the congressional aide said. "Some of it is a product of getting the agencies to take the issue more seriously and trying to help get rid of the stigma surrounding it."

CNN's Barbara Starr contributed to this report.

And Elizondo is not any better. Seriously, can the US media not do any better than this?

To summarize my take on Elizondo: he touts video footage of supposed UFO/UAPs as evidence of something inexplicable, but doesn't bother to do any real analysis of it. And when other people analyse it and find it be nothing special, he then says 'Ah yes, but you don't have access to the extra data that I've seen but you're not allowed to see'. How very convenient...

is this alien life or do adversaries or someone else have capabilities that far exceed anything we have the ability to understand track or counter? Either way it's really bad," said Waltz.
Or is it neither...? One thing is for sure, there can be no adversary more mysterious than one that doesn't even exist.

I agree. It's neither. And it's not an adversary. And it only temporarily exists, if at all. Jung thought it all comes from the human subconscious. We are not going to solve it. There is reason why it's called an enduring mystery.

Edit:
Americans overwhelmingly approve government investigation:

Two-thirds of Americans say government must get to the bottom of UFO mystery: poll

Jennifer Harper - The Washington Times - Saturday, June 5, 2021

The media has offered serious coverage of UFOs or unidentified aerial phenomenon in recent days, following the release of intriguing U.S. Navy aerial footage and a CBS News tell-all about the phenomenon. Now there’s news that the Pentagon will soon release its own investigation of the matter.

“There is stuff: Enduring mysteries trail U.S. report on UFOs,” the Associated Press reported on Saturday.

A preliminary CNN analysis of the upcoming study suggests that the investigation has yet to find authentic evidence of extraterrestrial spacecraft but has not reached a “definitive assessment” on the matter.

A new poll, however, finds that Americans are very receptive to such research. Two-thirds of U.S. adults are in favor of government investigations of UFOs according to a new Economist YouGov poll. Here are the numbers:

33% of U.S. adults “strongly approve” of U.S. government agencies investigating UFOs; 31% of Republicans, 35% of independents and 37% of Democrats agree.

33% overall “somewhat approve” of agencies investigating UFOs; 32% of Republicans, 36% of independents and 35% of Democrats agree.

8% overall “somewhat disapprove”; 9% of Republicans, 9% of independents and 9% of Democrats agree.

@Touring Mars

You'll be bemused to know the US government study of the phenomena will be ongoing (and presumably well funded) across numerous agencies. And scientists at NASA are even now at work analyzing the data not only from these fuzzy leaked videos, but over a hundred unreported recent military encounters.

Thanks for your contribution! All claims of the unusual benefit from skeptics and debunkers poking every possible hole in the claims. Mick West is a skilled, experienced and very highly motivated debunker, so what he might have to say is interesting. However, in this particular case, nine of the most advanced warships in the US Navy were swarmed by unknown objects for three consecutive weeks, including hovering directly above and directly in front of the ships. They were observed visually, by multiple radars, night vision devices, nearby civilian ships, and probably by overhead satellites and patrol planes as well. The video itself was confirmed by a Pentagon spokesperson as being authentically taken by Navy personnel, and to depict unknown objects. If it were airplanes or planets or bokeh responsible for the "pyramid" lights, you'd think analysis of the total event by as many as 18 intelligence agencies, the armed services and NASA over the past two years would reveal that. Their report of as many as additional 120 events over the past two decades is due to Congress and the American people this month.

As many of us know, the US government and the military has a shabby history of deceiving the American people. There are four known historical UFO events over 70 years in which agents, sometimes rogue, of the US military has perpetrated UFO hoaxes. So stay tuned, stay skeptical, and keep your posts coming.

The 'pyramids' video is a great example of what is wrong with the kind of 'analysis' that is being done on these videos.

The woman in the Wired video above is not analysing anything - she is providing commentary, and nothing more.

The key point is this though - a triangular object in an image or video does not mean that the object itself is triangular. The fact that some people aren't even addressing this basic point and just accepting the footage at face value is incredible - and embarrassing.

You'd think so. The very fact that they can't seem to sort wheat from chaff is scary - I assume that they actually can but that, in the case of the pyramid video for example, have concluded that it is nothing interesting.

That doesn't necessarily mean that all observations pertaining to the alleged events are innocuous, so it doesn't help to lump them all together as if they all must either be trivial or all must be non-trivial. Some are more interesting than others. But what the 'pyramids' video does reveal is the almost absurd levels of speculation that can be heaped on top of an absurd level of incompetence and laziness when analysing what the video actually shows.

In addition, an image of something appearing to move across a background at high speed, does not tell you the speed or size of the object without a reliable way to measure.

The descriptions of objects moving at thousands of mph are nonsense, when they could just as well be explained by something small moving very close to the camera. Or indeed by some optical phenomena. Estimating the speed requires many assumptions about the size or position/distance of an object that often come only from intuition, rather than measurement.

Remember that the tic tac object seen by Commander Fravor to be accelerating from 500' from his F-18 to over the horizon in less than two seconds was simultaneously tracked on radar.

Rep. Adam Schiff implied that the briefing was eye-opening.

Capitol Hill lawmakers said Wednesday that UFOs could pose a pressing threat to America’s national security, as the pols emerged from a highly classified briefing with Navy and FBI officials on the unexplained phenomena.

Ahead of the release of a highly anticipated Pentagon report on unidentified flying objects before month’s end, members of the House Intelligence Committee received a hush-hush sneak preview inside a SCIF, or “sensitive compartmented information facility.”

As for the existence of extraterrestrial life, the lawmakers largely left the secrets inside the surveillance-proof room, declining to tell reporters what they learned.

But some did voice concerns that the UFOs — which may be espionage assets controlled by America’s foreign adversaries, in a possible explanation just slightly less terrifying than the vanguard of an alien invasion — could pose a danger to national security.

Edit:
The probability that the phenomenon is due to US, Russian or Chinese sources is now considered so infinitesimally small that the US government is actively considering the extraterrestrial and interdimensional hypotheses.

The new paradigm of UAP reality is affecting religion and internet algorithms.

TL:DR
The consolidation of knowledge of UAPs to military witness testimonies, and the use of internet algorithms to monitor non-military testimonies represents a new development in this new religiosity of the UAP, what Carl Jung has termed “a new mythology.” For scholars and students of religion, this provides a rich opportunity to examine the formation of new systems of belief and practice coalescing around powerful cosmological questions, otherwise known as religions.

Congress calls for permanent office to to address "Unidentified Aerial Phenomena".
ironically, for the past year, the subject of unidentified aerial phenomena has been one of the few issues that has enjoyed near-universal bipartisan support from Republicans and Democrats.

This video clearly sets out the case that the current government/military/mass media disclosure of UPA/UFO phenomena is a carefully managed US military program, the object being to create fear and funding in support of the weaponization of space and complete surveillance of Earth's atmosphere.

A new Navy pilot encounter with UAP is discovered. Could it be a flying triangle coming out of the ocean?

The DNI, America's top spy chief, says the phenomena may have non-human origin.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) sponsors urgent new bipartisan legislation to study and report on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, including health effects reported by Navy pilots.

Strong US bipartisan legislation is now in place to study and report on UFO phenomena.

Op-Ed: OK! It’s time to take UFOs seriously

BY DILLON GUTHRIE
DEC. 16, 2021 3:05 AM PT
Of all the year’s political drama, the most surprising may be the U.S. government’s actions on unidentified aerial phenomena, or UAPs — better known as UFOs.
The opening act came in June, when the Pentagon and the director of national intelligence delivered an astonishing report to Congress addressing UAPs. Most of these phenomena turn out to have prosaic explanations — such as weather balloons, space debris and atmospheric effects in the sky — with a small percentage exhibiting unusual flight characteristics that suggest advanced technology.
The June report, however, found the opposite: It could account for only one of the 144 UAP sightings between 2004 and 2021 that it examined, including 80 observed with multiple sensors such as high-tech military radar and infrared cameras mounted on warplanes.

Take one of the most memorable sightings, caught on infrared camera in 2004. Navy pilots flying from the USS Nimitz spotted a 40-foot white object resembling a Tic Tac mint levitating erratically above the waters off the California coast. As the pilots approached, the Tic Tac — despite lacking wings or any sign of propulsion — rose to meet them midair before speeding instantly away, vanishing. The report did not conclude what the Tic Tac or any other UAPs are, and it could not attribute them to secret technology developed by the U.S. or any adversaries.

Now Congress wants answers. In November, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) authored legislation creating an office to study UAPs government-wide and report to Congress. Then the Defense Department tried to stake its claim to the issue, shortly after announcing the formation of its own UAP unit. Its team would investigate only UAPs spotted in sensitive military airspace, and it would operate without congressional supervision. Some criticized the half-measure as a preemptive ploy to avert oversight, though the Pentagon denies those claims.

But Gillibrand and a bipartisan bloc of lawmakers, including Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.), were not deterred. They steered legislation through Congress — attached as an amendment to the annual defense bill, sent to President Biden’s desk Wednesday to be signed into law — that establishes a new office to study UAPs. The amendment also requires unclassified reports on UAPs delivered to Congress each year, as well as semiannual classified briefings to legislators.

The move represents the most significant public progress yet to understand UAPs. For all its dysfunction, only Congress has the institutional power and legitimacy to lead this conversation.

UAPs intersect with topics as wide-ranging as aerospace technology, national security and potential health effects on individuals exposed to these craft. No single agency has the multidisciplinary know-how or legal authority to tackle all these questions. For example, the Pentagon unit’s intended focus on military airspace would ignore the Federal Aviation Administration and civilian flight safety.

A comprehensive strategy from Congress is needed. The office created by the Gillibrand amendment accordingly will take a broad approach by investigating UAPs across jurisdictional lines, prioritizing areas of scientific study and requiring various agencies to collaborate — not only the Defense Department and the Federal Aviation Administration but also the Energy Department, intelligence community, NASA and others. It will develop a science plan to investigate striking physical characteristics of UAPs (like their speed) and potentially replicate any advanced UAP technologies. And the new office will seek to understand the global nature of these phenomena, directing outreach to foreign allies.

In particular, the office will analyze whether UAPs represent foreign adversarial technology or otherwise pose a threat. That should be its top priority. The June report stated that UAPs, in addition to representing a flight safety hazard, “may pose a challenge to U.S. national security.” Given the regular sightings in military airspace — and the apparent connection between UAPs and nuclear technology — national security concerns are paramount.

In setting up this office, Congress has legitimized the long-ridiculed topic of UAPs. Yet its work does not end there. It must ensure that the office receives adequate funding and make clear that the office should be led by a civilian director with the expertise necessary to tackle these issues and cut through the Pentagon’s red tape.

Of course, the perspectives of defense and intelligence officials will be crucial. But the Pentagon has a long history of obfuscating work relating to UAPs, whereas Congress can promote transparency. Once the office has delivered its first unclassified report, Congress should hold public hearings to discuss its findings.

Now that legislators have marshaled action on UAPs, they need to make sure the new office does not become shrouded in secrecy.

From r/UFOs on reddit:

Apparently most people here haven't read the scientific papers regarding the infamous Nimitz incident. Here they are. Please educate yourselves.

One paper is peer reviewed and authored by at least one PHD scientist. The other paper was authored by a very large group of scientists and professionals from the Scientific Coalition of UAP Studies.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7514271/

It's a lot to read so I'll give the smooth brained apes among you the TLDR:

These objects were measured to be moving at speeds that would require the energy of multiple nuclear reactors and should've melted the material due to frictional forces alone. There should've been a sonic boom. Any known devices let alone biological material would not be able to survive the G forces. Control F "conclusions" to see for yourself.

Basically, we have established that the Nimitz event was real AND broke the known laws of physics. That's a big deal. Our best speculative understanding at the moment (and this is coming from physicists) is these things may be warping space time. I know it sounds like sci-fi.

This data was captured on some of the most sophisticated devices by some of the most highly trained people in the world. The data was then analyzed by credible scientists and their analyses was peer reviewed by other experts in their field and published in a journal.
