"MAKE YOUR PRODUCT IN THE USA AND THERE ARE NO TARIFFS"

There will still be tariffs? You can't make products in the USA without some sort of material being imported to produce the product here. The BMW plant in South Carolina produces the X5, but if you read the Monroney sticker, only 32% of the car is produced in US/Canada, the engine comes from Austria & the transmission comes from Germany before final assembly. I believe with the Tundra in Texas, I think 20% of the parts come from Japan.

I've seen similar notes brought up about factories being moved here to "avoid" a tariff. Materials like steel will still be affected (again) & the company will be dealing with 2+ years of that if they're trying to get a major manufacturing plant up and running here.

Add in the equipment used in production as well, if any of that it sourced from outside the US (and again it's entire supply chain), as well as any consumables, service items, etc. then it's another area for tariffs to hit.

To avoid tariffs, the production of any item would require every single element of its supply and manufacture chain to be US based, right the way back to raw materials in every case, which is pretty much impossible.

Chuckles, a 91-year-old Republican senator, thinks favored groups should be exempt from the Trump tax.

Man, you know what I need to pay? More taxes. I get a ton of employer provided benefits and in all likelihood they won't drop them because the last time they even attempted to get rid of a few things, the employees revolted.

I don’t think it’s going to be popular with employees, which potentially makes it hard to enact
Mango Unchained ran on No Taxes on Tips or Overtime as a way of courting the common worker, so to make good on those promises, the idea is to tax employees on other things? No ****, it'll be unpopular with workers.

I'm sure his voters who liked those promises will be... wait, I hear something... it's the leopard's fat feet stomping this way.

Here's Canada's first list of target products. While it may appear to "oddly specific", that's because it targets products which tend to be mostly produced in "red states". It's almost as though the Canadian Government had a contingency plan which was thought out in detail and involves leopards which dine on faces 😂

Cavorting druids, death by stoning and dung for dinner.

We throw the dung and eat stones, don't be silly. Haven't you watched one of our televised team-based competitions held on a walled grass surface?

Or, in translation, "representatives of an unelected oligarch compromise secure systems with hardware of unknown origin, seize personal data, and lock government employees out of vital layers of federal machinery without explicit authorisation".

I wonder what kind of person you'd have to be in order to be at all happy about this.

Of course Musk hates USAID because it was anti-apartheid, and isn't going after the biggest and most wasteful cash sink in the government - the Pentagon - because muh defence contracts...

Oh my god this is just pathetic.

Also, why the hell would you put a 25% tariff on goods from CANADA? Is Trump mad? American companies build stuff there! I thought Trump was all about supporting American companies, but this stupid policy does anything but. Same goes for Mexico. He really doesn't know what he's talking about.

What's humorous is that a bunch of Conservatives don't want Canada being part of the US. They fear it'll bring in too many liberal voters & immigrants.

Technically, if Canada gets annexed then they'd all be immigrants. Even the white people.

Have you actually opened your eyes and started doing your own independent research or are you just pretending to be outraged because you took some heat on here about your uninformed views???
Seriously want to know. Not being a trouser snake about it.
We, Americans, are in for some serious upheaval.
Troubles are ahead.
I just feel it. Don’t mean to be a downer.
My evidence is the orange monkey the non thinkers voted in.
Right @opelgt1969 😂
Clowns do love clowns.

I am not pretending. I am dead serious.

You're just now realizing that?
Yes I am.

My guess is that Trump sees absorbing Canada as some kind of massive empire building legacy achievement - a 21st century Louisiana Purchase. But ask yourself why Canadians, who have an actual functioning democracy, would choose to join a country that is only marginally democratic like the United States, riddled as it is with undemocratic anomalies, gerrymandering and systemic corruption? And why would Canada, the second largest country on the planet, with vast natural resources and a population of 40 million, accept being a shoehorned in as a single State with the same Senate representation as Wyoming or Rhode Island? We may be Canucks, but we're not daft.

Yes I am.
Honest question, why are you only realising it now?

The reason I ask is that Trump is doing exactly what he said he was going to do.

Hell, the only thing he's doing he claimed he wouldn't, is implementing Project 2025 (which he 100% is doing), but for anyone with half a brain it was clear that was put together with his clear approval and intention to use.

Now to answer a question you raised earlier, he was never about 'helping Americans', that's not what this is about. This is about totally changing the very make up of the US at every level, to create a deeply nationalist white-ethno-state that exists to primarily benefit a group of very rich, deeply right-wing people.
