And then there would be a civil war. So as much as I despise this ****nugget, let's hope that doesn't happen
I’m thinking that if anyone takes him out, it’ll be one of “his people”, since they’re the ones with the guns and they’re the ones who’ve been inspired by his rhetoric of violence. So civil war may not be the outcome.

Meanwhile in mid-Michigan:

I just want to add that he violated the content-neutral rule prohibiting members of the public approaching the panel. As I understand it he was removed, detained, and given a misdemeanor citation for "disturbing assembly" (he broke a rule, not the law). It was a fantastic example of civil disobedience. He was also fired from his school coaching job, which I gather he expected. Good for him.

No freedom of speech?
See above.

Edit: The rule is there ostensibly to protect the panel. I don't expect he intended to do any harm and the whole point was to make a display of violating the rule itself rather than anyone's rights. He maybe could have filibustered (there are likely content-neutral rules restricting duration which are to the benefit of the entire public) and been removed, but I don't think he would have made the same point and it could just come off as discourteous to other members of the public.

LOL. All those wonderful things must be preventing 10 trans women from competing in sports.

"Nobody that I've talked to understood the devastation that having this administration in office would do to our lives," Piggott, 47, told Reuters in an interview, saying she would not have supported Trump if she knew then what she knows now.
"As much as I think that President Trump is doing wonderful things for the country in some regards, I don't understand this at all," she said.

While unstated, the rest of the thought is that "devastation is absolutely fine in THEIR lives".

You hear it in the interview...

I believe that happened in California, not mid-Michigan. There isn't a town hall that looks that nice in mid-Michigan outside maybe Lansing and even then, Lansing is pretty blue.
My bad. The YouTube channel is a Michigan Fox affiliate and I failed to read the video description.

And then they'd blame it on liberals because ignoring inconvenient facts is a MAGA specialty.

Every time a MAGA loon acts in either an incriminating or a contrary manner, the rest of them say that they're Democrat/FBI plants and agitators.

Imagine being the ghost of Ashli Babbitt, so driven to MAGA fervour that she tried to smash her way into the Capitol and got a faceful of bullet, looking down to see all of the people she was sheeping with claiming she wasn't genuine MAGA.

If a MAGApostle actually takes Trump/Vance/Musk/whoever out because of reasons, they'll all say they were actually a Democrat assassin.

So, Canada has a new Prime Minister. Trump's rhetoric against Canada has turned Canadian politics on its ear and there is a strong possibility that the Liberals under Mark Carney - the former Governor of the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England - could win the upcoming general election in Canada. This is a dramatic turn around from where things stood only a couple of months ago. Hopefully Carney's tough stand on Trump will inspire other leaders to unite in opposing Trump, so we don't have to witness more spectacles like Keir Starmer grovelling in front of Trump with his "very special letter from the King."

Brexit has weakened the UK so much as a nation and diminished our position on the world stage. I think hiding behind America was always going to be the plan whether Trump won or not.

Economically speaking, we can't afford to be burning any bridges. We need all the friends we can get or keep.

Damn, son, we're winning hard.

Ford estimated it will add about CA$100 ($69) a month to the bills of each American affected.

Well damn. I mean, $70 isn't going to make or break me but it will certainly hurt a ton of people in Michigan who struggle to pay their electric bills as is. Most of Northern Michigan gets its gas from Enbridge too, which is a Calgary company so I assume the cost of my propane is about to jump up as well. It might be time to invest in solar panels.

Trump will raise taxes on that because it's not coal, or something.

I feel for you, Joey. And when Trump un-suspends his 25% tariff on Canadian product, that $70 will rise by 25% as well as on the underlying energy cost.

The good news is that Premier Ford is not in any mood to take 🐂 **** from Trump, which is exactly what is need to make Trump back down.

  • “I will not hesitate to increase this charge. If the United State escalates, I will not hesitate to shut the electricity off completely,” Ontario Premier Doug Ford said at a news conference in Toronto.
  • “Believe me when I say I do not want to do this. I feel terrible for the American people who didn’t start this trade war. It’s one person who is responsible, it’s President Trump.”
  • “It needs to end. Until these tariffs are off the table, until the threat of tariffs is gone for good, Ontario will not relent,” Ford said.

As is often the case, AP News is doing good reporting, which is probably why Trump's White House booted them.
