President, his meat shield, and a local jester.

Why do only post part of what happened? Ontario threatened to place a 25% tariff on electricity sold to three states, Trump responded by increasing the tariffs on steel and aluminum from 25% to 50%. Ontario folded today, with Trump putting the tariffs back to their original increase. Carrot and stick.
Im glad you’re enjoying the show too!

And the tariffs help who exactly? Trump already stated he's not above nosediving the economy to do whatever comes next. It certainly won't help the American public.

Why only post part of what happened? Ontario threatened to place a 25% tariff on electricity because Trump vowed to implement tariffs on Canadian goods first. Trump started this entire trade war because he doesn't understand basic economics, even at a grade school level and he's surrounded by idiotic yes men who are too afraid to tell him he's an idiot.

Or worse, he does understand it and doesn't care because he, nor any of his cronies, will be affected by it.

Caleb Ragland, a soybean farmer in Magnolia, Ky., voted for President Donald Trump in 2016, 2020 and 2024.
This isn’t the first time farmers have had to deal with new tariffs. Back in Trump’s first term, the trade war with China in 2018 — a time when Ragland said the agricultural economy was “in a much better place than it is right now” — cost the U.S. agriculture industry more than $27 billion, and soybeans made up virtually 71% of annualized losses.

That trade war has caused lasting damage. To this day, the U.S. has yet to fully recover its loss in market share of soybean exports to China, the world’s number one buyer of the commodity, according to the ASA.

Get caught vandalizing a Tesla dealership = domestic terrorist.

Get caught storming the Capitol, during which 5 died and over 100 police were injured = A True Patriot.

Yep. 🙃.
Next up: Elon tries to take legal action against any Gran Turismo 7 footage from players that makes Tesla look bad, claiming its an act of inciting treason.

Illegally boycotting, lol. Just like how all those companies were illegally boycotting choosing not to advertise on Twitter & Musk was telling them to go **** themselves.
My favorite one was how he accused Japan of spending the last uh... 35 years having their economy being in the toilet and their currency super weak just to get a leg up on the US; implying that all Japan needed to do to avoid his wrath was just make their money more valuable.

Yep.

Mango Unchained complaining about why do we have to protect Japan & they don't have to protect us showcasing once again that no one in his administration paid attention in high school history classes. We dismantled their military after WWII & disallowed them from foreign operations, we made the treaty that says we will protect them in return for allowing us to have a presence in Asia.

What do the insecure Ferd and Jeemsy pickup blokes think about Trump buying what was, until about two seconds ago, the state car of Commiefornia?

They will be affected by it. Positively. Knowing the news of these tariffs will bomb the markets, they'll all buy stocks low knowing he'll drop the tariffs again and the market will bounce back and they'll all make a tidy profit.

I was definitely surprised by the aggression toward Canada. China I expected.
I wasn't. I remember the incredulous reaction when he plumped for tariffs on them during his first term, declaring them (by way of their steel production) a national security threat so he could slap tariffs on them. Oh, and accusing Canada of being the ones who burned the White House... and that was when he had people in his team curbing the more insane 💩 he tried to push through.

I also couldn't help but notice this on the sidebar when I was looking for the article above:

"Oreo’s owner and the woman – whom the station agreed not to name in its coverage – reportedly said they would be sure to engage the safeties of any guns in their home moving forward."

Correct me if I'm wrong but surely one of the checks that occurs when acquiring a gun over there is for basic safety/common sense regarding handling said gun?

...right?

Which is probably why most of the Senate and House (including the Democrats) may not protest too much about it, despite ignoring who they represent.

Sadly you are wrong. Granted it varies quite a bit from state to state so I can't say for sure what Tennessee is like but I know in Minnesota at least the only time you need proof of any kind of training is if you plan on getting a carry permit.

Oh, you think it's all over. How cute.

Sooo... I've never bothered to learn what Jancle Dancle Vancle's actual name is, but upon looking it up it transpires that almost none of them are the names on his birth certificate, and one of them has changed twice. Only whatever the J stands for is still the original.

Makes me wonder quite why they all get so raged-up about other people changing their names, to the point of refusing to recognise them. And he's hardly a unique example among that ilk either...

You do realize you only posted part of what happened right? Trump started the whole thing off remember?
We haven't even got started. Enjoy the ride.
Yea, screw... checks notes... Ontario! for no particular reason. They've been... checks notes again... taking advantage of us? Yea! taking advantage of us... in... ways.... that make us mad!

A ride that most people didn't ask for because Trump looks at an ideal economic model and decides the one from the Reconstruction era is the best model to follow?

In all fairness I've heard plenty of stories about drugs coming from Canada into the U.S. Sometimes smuggled by entire busses of people.

Granted those are all U.S. citizens making the trip because their prescription is too expensive in the states but that's not the point!
