Time to get rid of DEI in the US government: No Drunks, Evangelists, or Incompetents.
Why, the original meaning is a perfect fit:
Donalds, Elons, or Incompetents.

Oh funny:

"basically no one got fired" - before or after courts intervention?
And isnt DOGE right now doing that what it is supposed to cut, create wasteful spendings?
Funneling taxes for doing their job into their pockets for a job not done at all.

Granted I only have history to go on and not experience, but this sounds... awfy familiar.
"Trump's order says that Congress should not fund Smithsonian exhibits and programmes that "divide Americans by race". It alleges that the American Women's History Museum, which is in development, plans to "recognize men as women"."
That last part, he has started and done by himself.

By the way, I highly suspect Greenland has eploitative natural resources (I'm not saying it's oil but I think it's oil) and stretching closer to the North Pole brings the US even closer to Russia than it already is.

The main target of interest for the US is the vast, untapped, rare earth mineral deposits in Greenland.

Add in that it also hosts one of the US early warning missile stations, which if the US were to leave NATO would become incredibly vital to US missile defense (and would also be lost if Greenland is still a Danish protectorate).

In short Trump (and Elon) want Greenland so they can strip-mine it and use it to leave NATO.

An anonymous senior level source in the Pentagon’s information technology field reached out to tell me that upon the arrival of newly installed senior military officials in February they were asked to install Signal on their government phones. There had already been instances where newly appointed Trump officials attempted to bring their personal phones in secure areas.

They relented on leaving their phones outside the classified spaces but demanded that CIO install Signal on their government devices.
One senior uniformed official told me source that, “they all use Signal and need it to communicate with the White House,” which they took to mean its being used on their personal devices already."

The bold has me really concerned...

I wonder if the Greenland news is just a way to blow the Signal Gate over but it sounds like

In a stunning and brave victory for capitalism against the woke socialist agenda, the Senate, in a party line vote, overturned the Biden-era rule to limit bank overdraft fees to $5.

The GOP isn't just disproportionately reducing taxes for the ultra rich. They're actively increasing taxes for the poor and working class.

This is beautiful. Somewhere, somehow, I think Trump has finally learned that tariffs will raise costs for Americans. And his response - rather than admit he was wrong, rather than walk-back his threats, he's threatening manufacturers to prevent them raising prices.

I'm sure all of the 7-figure salaried company directors and executives are really enjoying Trump chewing up their profits over this.

Automakers have a pretty easy way around not raising prices though, keep MSRP the same but change the packages and options list so that they're more expensive. Auto makers already won't make you a stripped down vehicle of their vehicle unless you special order it so it's not like it's overly difficult for them to skew the numbers here. So yes, a Chevy Silverado will start $37,000 but you'd not going to find one for that price anywhere. They'll also tack on a higher destination fee, port fee, whatever fee. They'll also make up the difference in financing too, instead of offering 8% or whatever, they'll charge 11% financing over 6-7 years on a new vehicle and make bank off the interest.

Of course, Trump doesn't know that but he will probably complain that they didn't follow the "spirit" of their promise. At some point, SOMEONE needs to stand up to him and tell him "this won't work and here's why". Unfortunately, that someone doesn't exist.

Ferrari seems to be the first manufacturer to publicly respond, announcing there will be a 10% increase in price. However, they seem to be playing it smart in that certain models built before April 2nd will be exempt & that models like the Purosangue and SP3 will be the ones getting hit. They acknowledge they have a wealthy owner base, but they still need to be careful in their pricing strategies. RACE stock from what I've read, seems to still be ok.

When trying to read owners' thoughts, it most are validly concerned. But, there are naturally a few dumb chuds thinking, "This is just an excuse to raise prices" & "if these tariffs are so bad, why are there tariff wars". There were a couple more long term concerns that Ferrari might change their situation once they see what the other luxury brands do, and that American-built cars aren't immune from being raised in prices to "compete" with the new, higher priced imports.

Yup. And it'll be impossible for the government to stop that. If you're an American car company (Tesla for example) it's a dream come true.

Whatever the manufacturers don't add, you know the dealers will. (I'm referring to the cars that are not directly impacted by tariffs, but will naturally rise in price since the "foreign" cars will now be more expensive). I'm guessing that the non-tariffed vehicles will eventually be something like 22.5% more expensive to just undercut the tariffed cars with nice comfy margins that I'm so sure will be paid out to the assembly line workers...

The end result will be the result tariffs always give - higher prices, lower quality, fewer choices.

Simultaneously making Tesla special and yet again, a conflict of interest.
And to think Tesla might actually benefit greatly if Elon wasn't making himself such a whiny, unlikable dick head.

Martin & Marc must be saddened to see what's become of their brand, but happy they've gotten out in some form.

So much craziness is going on in this world it's not even funny. I'm going to have to take things for protection if I go anywhere. And probably some armor or a bulletproof vest. It bothers me so bad I haven't even watched the news in about 2 and a half weeks.

And Elon is in la-la-land worried about building A.I, ships and robots to help humanity out. This is wild, I saw this video just now. Blows my mind.

Attempting to pretend they don't want to invade Greenland.
Did Greenland give them permission to bring a troop deployment or did Trump/Vance ignore that? Could be interpreted as an act of war and since the US is still part of NATO, it has to declare war on itself.
