Is that the complete list of countries? If so, for all of his talk of Canada applying over 250% tariffs on US goods, I'm surprised Canada is not listed on his little middle school board like project.

The fact that British Indian Ocean Territory (which has a joint US/UK base and has zero exports) is on this list shows that nobody with a brain checked it over before it got released.

The explanation is that Canada and Mexico both fall under the terms of the USMCA, so aside from the 25% tariff on aluminum & steel and on "autos" other goods will continue to be "tariff-free" ... for now. Cars and car parts will be tariffed according to the percentage of American/Canadian content in the completed vehicles, so likely to be significantly less than 25%. However, with car parts moving backwards & forwards across the border multiple times during the manufacturing process, figuring out what the percentage will be is going to require some complicated actuarial work, as you can imagine. Some plants in the US & Canada (and presumably Mexico) specialize in the production of certain models, so there will be an awkwardly imbalanced variety of tariffs on different vehicles. Basically a complete **** show ... but clearly that is going to be the case with many other products produced around the globe.

So, it seems as though straight out theft is on the cards for Trump/Musks goon squad.

Wired reports that DOGE is trying to transfer the United States Institute of Peace’s headquarters to the government’s General Services Administration free of charge. DOGE took over the USIP last month after a standoff with law enforcement and fired the agency’s 10 board members, despite the fact that it’s an independent nonprofit organization and is not part of the executive branch of government.

Tariffs on Antarctic land is straight GTA political snark level antics and yet here we are 😔
Poor little Pingu has been tariff'd too? What the hell did he ever do to anyone? 😭

I've been alive for 24 years and I've never seen a government quite as deranged as this one. It's one misstep after another. Is this some kind of Monty Python skit? How ****ing stupid are Trump's cronies? What an absolute disaster. The term "clownshow" gets thrown around a lot in politics but it's the most fitting way to describe this totally diabolical situation. Nobody wins in this except the rich and wealthy who aren't living paycheck to paycheck. Time for us peasants to revolt.

This was my first thought when I saw the number for Vietnam (46%).
He really thinks that this would make Nike think about producing sneakers in the USA does he? And not one person with at least some brains is willingly to tell him this is absolutely insanely stupid.

We should be thankful for Vietnam for doing such labor against such low wages. But this 'master of the deal' is fixing nothing.

It boils down to very few options:

1) Trump has no idea how tariffs work and he's lashing out creating these unnecessary headaches until someone tells him no or stops him.
2) Trump doesn't care and acts on impulse.
3) Trump knows how tariffs work and is willing to take a small personal hit as long as he can prove he is a dictator and not a president.

I just hope there is a country worth something by 2026 because every media station is turning into Fox News lite it seems.

I think it is the worst combination of those 3 options.

Trump has no idea, acts on impulse, and ignores any rational advice in a desperate attempt to tell him to stop this madnes he started, because he is the self proclaimed king and yet has to be wrong on anything he touches.

Want to know what's worse? If he were to die in office, his successor is even more unqualified for the position.

I had a felling this was going to start happening. International athletes that are playing professionally for teams here in the US are afraid to leave the country to go represent their home countries in international competitions because they might not be allowed back in the US due to this idiotic administration's policies.

Sweet. We're gonna win the World Cup because we will arbitrarily ban the best players!

Huh. When things get too expensive, you can just not buy them and so you should shut up about the policy that made them more expensive? That's so enlightened.

So, uh, where was that attitude when it cost a crazy $125 including tax and tip to have two bloomin' onions, a steak salad, lobster tails, a filet, a chicken sandwich and a sirloin DoorDashed because of Bidenflation?

American shoe manufacturing has never really been the same since those two kids played that board game.

This coming from an utter moron trying to get people to buy his coffee, a product the US can only produce in Hawaii, small parts of California, & Puerto Rico. He claims his brand is USA made, but those 3 locations can not meet the demand Americans have for coffee & iirc, much of the Hawaiian produced coffee goes over seas to Asia.

Why? It's a European owned company...
Because Trump wants to rule over everyone an assert his policies, and what are sure to be his unsafe food/produce practices on the entire world.

Lutnick says as much in this interview (timestamped)

Everyone else is evil remember... even if he has to lie to prove it.

Edit: I truly despise this arrogant POS.
