Regardless, Trump has his pick for Pope, it's Wisconsin Cardinal Raymond Burke who is both an asshole and a heretic.

Great! Now that you've said he can't do it, he's going to do it just to prove you wrong! And also because he probably thinks he'd be the best pope ever.
Within a week we're going to see 125% tariffs on the Vatican, shortly after that all churches will lose their tax exemptions, Trump will let everyone know that it'll all get better if he's elected pope, and then everyone will vote him in...
After that all religions that aren't Christian will be accused of spreading "fake news", any churches in countries Trump doesn't like will be excommunicated and labelled as terrorist organizations, Trump will also threaten to excommunicate and take Jesus away from any country that doesn't bend the knee, and Trump will launch a new #Trump4Jesus cryptocurrency.

The Queen died shortly after Liz Truss took office, the Pope died shortly after being visited by Vance. Clearly there's some Death Note-style causality going on here. Now we just need to figure out the combination of "unpopular politician" and "high profile activity" that will make this apply to Putin.
