FWIW I've found a simple trick is to draw a path under the car with the pen tool then set paintbrush to a very soft tip of desired size, set opacity to 30%, choose stroke path, use brush and reapeat as neccesary. If you do it on it's own layer you can also blur and adjust after the fact too
