American Soldiers in Iraq

Flame-returns
Am I the only one to read the Al quieda training manual????

  OK I'll simlify it for you:

Terrorism is not event specific, the goal of Al Qaeda is to remove all godless regiemes and replace them with one unified fundimentalist Islamic one. It does not matter what we or anyone else does, the West are still the bad guys. Both Spain and Germany have faced Al Qaeda attacks (Germany was a failed attempt.) Al Qaeda was active long before 9/11 and launched attacks on europe during that time.

I know, Al qaeda is an idea that is spread around the world, not just a small group of terrorists. This is a religion to them.:guilty:

Undertaker your just a stupid ASS.

Really and why is that? This is like the first time I've ever really cared about a subject and just because I'm showing that I know something about it, that makes me a stupid ASS. Obviously I'm not the stupid ass here. ASS.

That guy died more than 100 years ago and why the hell do you want me to read that? You think I'm a pushover or something. War has to been done sometimes, I know that, but in this case it isn't needed anymore. Obiviously they needed to go to war against Hitler. Don't just start throwing quotes around like your some great historian.

Right now more people are suffering from the war then are becoming happy because of it. Who cares what some utilitarist said some 100 years ago. This war isn't utilitarian.

Does it matter when this person died? People still quote dead presidents, civil leaders, and philosophers from 100, even 500 years ago.

The US didn't think they needed to fight Nazi Germany. The US was isolationist in the 30's and early 40's. The Third Reich over ran France, Italy, and Austria before any American troops landed at Normandy. Imagine if the US never entered the European theater? I doubt you would be speaking English. That is why it was important that the US did enter the war. This is why we have to fight this war as well.

This war has to be fought, weather you like it or not, because better men will.

No, what you told me before was that Canada was already a target before we entered Afghanistan. You were wrong. I don't care about you saying it was a couple years ago.

We WERE still a target though, I don't care what you say. Just because the list made it to TV in 2002, doesn't mean it hasn't existed for the past 10 years.

And for the second time, your fun fact of the week isn't factual. Chimpanzees and Orangutangs do it too.

All I'll say is that, to those who support the war, why are you here posting and not over there fighting the good fight?

For the record, by the way, I am not a Liberal, however, I do not support the way the war has been handled or the fact that it was initiated on false pretenses. For that reason, and the general corruption of our current government, I do not associate myself with the Republican party, despite being, in many ways, conservative.

Dude, someone just said that in another thread. It's an old line from the political left.

Most people have academic responsibilities or medical reasons why they cannot join the armed forces. These people didn't plan for military careers, so obviously they're not over there fighting the good fight.

I would love to join the Air Force, but I have a degree in Computer Science I would like to finish first. Getting in a F-15E Strike Eagle and dropping a JDAM onto Osama's head would be cool.

I do not support the way the war has been handled or the fact that it was initiated on false pretenses.

UN Resolution 1441
.

1441 is completely based on false accusations, though. Iraq did fully comply with disarmament procedures, at the time war was initiated they had nothing aside from a few remaining warheads so old the agents contained within were long since useless. They also did fully comply with all UN inspections, however, the United States, under Clinton, attempted to place non-UN CIA operatives in with the inspection teams, and when Iraq refused to allow the CIA personell to be part of the inspection teams, the United States initiated a UN pullout from Iraq, subsequently declaring that Iraq had refused to allow legitimate security personnel to enter, when the fact of the matter was that they had allowed all legally mandated inspectors, as specified in 687, to perform their duties.

Furthermore, it has now been proven (Downey St. Memo, etc.) that the evidence upon which 1441 was based was manufactured or nonexistant, therefore rendering the points cited in 1441 fradulent and irrelavent.

I would be fighting if I could but I'm only 15 and can't join yet. Everyone in my family has been in the military for the last 4 generations. My great granfather fought in WW2, my grandfather fought in Vietnam, my dad was going to fight in the Gulf War but ended up being stationed in Germany where I was born only to be called up when I was 9 and selected to do a mission in Kosovo( don't know the exact spelling ) with a high probability of death but that mission was cancelled for some reason I was never told.

I don't get why some people still think its wrong to eliminate terrorist hiding places eventhough the killed over 3,000 people on 9/11 and are attacking England now. What will it take, for them to kill someone you know.

Note to the US and other forces in Iraq .
Please let Saddam go . He was only kidding when he threw out the Arms inspectors and refused unhindered access . He was not really firing missles at the US planes patrolling the no fly zones they were really big firecrackers . And now that the Downey memo that carries absolutely no weight for any party has determined that 1441 is irrelavent you see that you have no choice but to let poor Saddam go back to his business of killing raping and looting while making funny faces at the UN and giving the US the finger . although we all realise he lost the first gulf war and did not in any way live up to the cease fire aggreement that doesnt give you the right to attack his country ...well it does but its not fair because the UN changed its mind or something...So in closing p[lease let poor Saddam go ..give him back to his people they want him bad .

I wonder if the UN thinks it's based on false accusations? The UN signed it and made it a resolution, did they not?

That's your best shot, the Downing Street Memo? You even spelled it wrong.

You're going to refute all the evidence from the Senate Select Intelligence Committee, the Butler Report, and the 9/11 Commission, which all concluded that there was no manipulation of intelligence? Are you going to disregard three official inquires on the strength of one memo from a foreign staff meeting?

Give me a ****in' break!

The only thing is the US is the country that itially pissed off Al Queda..

Exactly what did the US do to justify 9/11? We went into Afghanistan as a response. Our allies went with us because they felt that we were justified in that response. Please, explain to me how the US initially pissed them off so that they would attack us.

I have wanted to be in the Air Force since elementary school, but I was born with a very serious heart defect and every recruiter for every division of the military told me sorry. I knew before talking to them what the answer would be but talked to them all just to make sure.

When I woke up for class on September 11, 2001 and got a call from my dad telling me to turn on the TV I grew furious at what I saw. I have applied for every civilian job in my field of expertise that would take me over there to help but would not be given medical clearance.

Your statement is a cheap ploy that I have heard way too much from the left. If you oppose the war and think America is so wrong why don't you go and try to stop them? Why don't you join Al Queda? Yes, I know these are stupid questions and I do not mean them seriously, but I believe they make as much sense as your question does.

Now that was a good response. I'm sorry you're not able to serve in the military as you'd like to.

Thank you. Despite being held back from that and other things I feel my life has been very fulfilling. Had I been in the military I most likely would not have met the woman who has been my wife for just over five weeks now, nor would I have had the years of Gran Turismo fun.

J/k :)
