What Amuse car is the best one?
(handling, speed , acceleration,...)

Please let me know

In my opinion, the AMUSE S2000 GT1 is the better of the 2. I think it looks better, it definitely sounds better, and it is quick and handles nicely too 👍

i bought the carbon R thinking... wow this cars is gonna rock...i mean just look at the car... big mistake... i disable the driving aids like i always do... oh man...turbo lag + incredible wheel spin... i could not control the thing....

Looks good but doesn't handle....

The S2000's on the other hand are great...in look, sound, and performance...not fast but handles like a go-kart

I couldn't agree more with Niclorin.

Out of the 2 cars, the S2000 is your best bet.

Your 0-60 is much quicker stock. The Carbon R 0-60 has major wheelspin unless you do some setting changes, but I can't 100% confirm it.

The handling is so much nicer. It loves to go arond the corners.

Top speed, I can't comment on as I've never got them to top speed, however, in braking, S2000.

The S2000 is worth the money. 👍

Master Yoda,
Keep that sort of post to yourself. :indiff:

I don't like all the new topics popping up... More work for me. :(

However, we have got to let this sort of thing happen.
Not just for the sake of keeping members happy, but more importantly, for the sake of being understanding.

We must try to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Chances are, the member starting this thread doesn't have the money to buy and test every last car he/she is interested in.
This is even more true today than a year ago... In GT4 we almost have to put down every purchase of a vehicle on the record.

Buying a car, testing, reloading and doing it with another is a hassle with GT4.
You've gotta have 2 memory cards or a memory card data transfer system. :irked:
Just having the means to do so is trouble. :(

So, let's have a little talk about the carbon R and the S2000 gt1. :)

To really contribute...
I will be back with either an edit of this post, or a new reply giving my best attempt at a review of both cars.

Back in about 30 minutes. 👍

Can't honestly say that I've spent enough time with the Carbon R to comment

But, the S2000 GT1 is considered one of the best cars in the game. Or should I say, the game itself heavily underates the car. It's a very quick and agile car that performs siginificantly better than it's "stats".

It's well known to win many a 200p race. 👍

I will agree with the posts above:in conclusion-AMUSE GT1 is a killer car, definetly one of the best cars in GT4...great cornering, stability, braking...sweet and smooth ride that can be deadly fast if you know (with it I kick asses of those boring MINOLTA's and co. on Nurb)! And looks match the performance(black color), not to mention the great sound. But it would be unfair to degrade a Carbon R so much! It looks mean-those carbon fibre chasis is quite unique, sounds mighty but isn't as fast as GT1. And oh yeah, the wheel spin is crazy-that provides lots of fun on Tsukuba wet-a workout for arms with Logitech!

The S2000 GT-1 is the better of the two, however the Carbon R is superb and is underestimated by many because it's hardfer to drive and setup. But if you can handle it and set it up right, theres not much between the two.

Arcade:
Motegi East
Sports softs
Stock power & weight

S2000: 👍
502/1180
401-602hp & 1062-1298kg

Great torque for an S2000.
Handles really well and manages amazing grip for acceleration and turning even with Sport soft tires.
Understeer was possible, but with proper driving technique the throttle oversteer could allow for the correct racing line at all times.
Lap times could easily come down dramatically with quick-tuning, based on my initial impressions, the car may be able to handle a full quick-tune without much trouble.
In fact, this car seems more than capable of running a full quick tune setup.

Carbon R: 👎
595/1123
475-713hp & 1010-1235kg

Horrible car in arcade mode. :(
Wheel spin was an issue in third gear without tcs.
Handling was quick and easy but only due to the thottle oversteer.
With tcs the car became much more managable.
A full quick tune with this car would be rediculus.
Having so little grip and so much power would make it a great car to compete with the TVR speed 12, but many other cars with sports soft tires and a similar pwr would yield much better lap times.
Since there is limited value to this car with a full quick tune I can not suggest you buy this car as an addition to your arcade collection.

GT Mode
Motegi East
Racing Super Soft Tires

S2000: 👍

I highly recommend this car for GT mode.
With the GT mode setup listed above I found this car to be nearly perfect for hotlaps or racing.
The power, torque, and handling were all excellent.
This car out-fitted with R5s is easily capable of running with real race cars such as jgtc or dtm.
There is no down side to this car unless you have a thing against the appearance. :)

Carbon R: 👍

Amazing improvement over the arcade version.
Super soft tires was all this car needed to become a full on race car.
With one short testing run I was able to beat the comprable S2000 by a full second.
There are no longer any grip problems.
Although the handling was not as "forgiving" as the S2000's, the Carbon R was still fully capable of easily running the proper racing line.
The brakes, power, and turn-in on this car were all outstanding.
Obviously this car was not meant to be held back by tire restrictions.
With racing tires and the stock setup (in my hands) this car was the faster car.

Overall Impressions:

S2000: Worth the buy.
The Amuse S2000 GT1 may be the best S2000 in this game.
This is the car PD should have used to replace the S2000LM of GT2.

Carbon R: Worth considering.
While the arcade car will not be used at all, the GT mode version of this car could serve any driver very well.
The GT mode version of this car is totally worth the buy.
However, with almost nothing to offer the arcade mode side of this game it is hard to recommend buying this car.
If you are far enough into the game, have the spare cash and desire to collect nearly everything- this car is a worthy addition to your garage but not your arcade mode.

Sorry it took so long to put all this stuff up but testing took longer than I thought... Plus I had a bite to eat in the middle of it all. ;)

The S2000 GT1 is probably the better car 'out of the box.'

However, with good settings, the difference isn't so great. The Carbon R catches up, and then it's a matter of what kind of character you want from your car. Want brute power and tons of straightline speed? Get the Carbon R. Want surgically precise cornering reminiscent of an F1 car? Get the S2000 GT1. Either way, you won't be sorry.

The Carbon R has too little torque. Then again, the S2000 doesn't have torque, but it's a S2000! I would go with the S2000. Keep it stock, unless you need a small turbo and some suspension upgrades.

S2000 GT1
S2000 all the way man and it sound good too (i think i said this already but) ----> :dunce: waaaAAAAAAPP 👍

Its really quik and handles like a charm!!

Here's my two cents:

IF you all remember the S200 GT-1 in GT2?
it's the same car...

I love this car, i won a lot of enduros with it back then, when i bought it again, it really surprised me, the handling is AWESOME, corners very, very well and is a good alternative to those race cars you all are using. the only thing is i wish bought it in black :( the black canvas top really throws me off and i just don't like it, they should have just made a hatch like what the folks at spoon did for their race car.

carbon-r.jpg

Carbon R - it really has one purpose.... it's a Wangan Runner if i remember correctly, i dunno if you have played this game (Tokyo Extrame Racer 3) where all you do is battle it out at speeds exceeding 250mph on Tokyo highways. But i feel this is what Amuse has done, and not to mention it's one of their show cars too. It handles horribly coz i think it's really meant for long distance, straight line racing.

i have no trouble keeping the Carbon under control, but same with the S2000, my vote is on Carbon because, it's amazing car just learn how to use it.
and besides its not weither the car is better it tottaly depends on the driver. car does help though. ok and so what if a car is faster, that really can mean squat on a track, its how you take the turn and what settings you have it on.
although there is alot of wheel spin on the Carbon, learn to get around that and you have a awsome car.

and for S2000, the car handles like a Mini, or a train on tracks, part of this is teh fact its a small, aerodynamic car that is low to the ground, and the reason i like this car is because it beats above his class, hell i used Amuse S2000 (i forgot but its not the road car, but not the GT1) for the 24 hour race and was able to own the AI after a few struggling hours after i woke up.

Me
This is the car PD should have used to replace the S2000LM of GT2.

Sure I messed up the name

But I knew there was a connection.

Just glad you wrote that though... Made me curious enough to load GT2 to see if I really did get the name wrong.

Ended up going to the "real" motor sports land in the cermo-one supra. :dopey:

Also, I've gotta ask...
Am I the only person here to have taken the time to test specifically for this thread?

I did both GT mode and Arcade mode.

What was interesting about it was the track times.
All races at motegi east...
I ran faster in the S2000 in arcade mode but ran faster with the Carbon-R in GT mode. :D

Anyone else find that the Carbon R is faster when you can put the right tires on it?

Excellent work. 👍

Those pictures were great, and thanks for checking on my study...

You know, sometimes we just don't drive one car as well as another and for each of us it may be different. :)

I thought, and still believe, that the S2000 has the potential to win on sports tires but the Carbon R is a great racer. 👍

I would be interested to do a little check on a match-up between the Falken Skyline vs the Carbon R. :mischievous:
If I was to test that any review would be posted in this thread. :D

Thanks for doing the great search.
Later.

Yer Welcome.... i'm currently studying the dynamics of my new (well... used) 22B STi, i've been lapping the ring since 3 in the morning here... fasteset i've managed is 7'16" (modified)

The Falken GT-R vs. the Carbon R?

Have to say that that isn't a fair comparison. The Falken is outfitted to compete with the other LM cars in the game (comes with 38/53 downforce) while the Carbon R is more comparable to the "Tuning" cars (NO downforce)

And if comparing "tuned" Skylines is of interest then you have the Pace Car (+ it's non-lighted brother), the Mine's and the RTune.

Well, I will consider your words, however, I'm still gonna test the falken and the carbon.

Trust me, the Carbon R has a bad rep for some reason.

Try that sucker on Racing slicks and you will be amazed how well it handles.

Also, don't be fooled, the Carbon R has downforce- it's just not adjustable. ;)

Let me look into this a bit more and get back to you... Might be a while before I can get back with another comparison but it will come in time. :D

Also, I hear you on the R-tune vs Mine's, Classic battle there. 👍

hmmm.. can't wait to see that... I have a recreated Z-Tune in my garage.... maybe i'll try that against one of Amuse's old creations, the Supra, gotta look for the specs...

and JDW i think the Falken would be a great opponent for a properly outfitted Carbon R... suspension tuning will likely be the deciding factor here though, one is tuned for the long wangan highways and one for our favorite track... the 'ring (hmmm... kinda catchy there... "Enter: The 'Ring!!!" bwahahaha :cue scary music:)
