Have a look at the online racing section in the GT6 forums on here. There are Racing Series' & Clubs & Leagues. See what matches your time zone & if they use the cars you're interested in. The clubs on here all seem pretty welcoming.

I like the Spinning Arrows Club because they're always very welcoming to new people & I've stuck with them after they welcomed me to the world of online racing when I was new. The host is @tarkus1 & when he's not available, either @jr4737 or @GTracerEHTeam host the meetings.
They do a mixture of casual nights & main events. It's not all muscle cars in there but you'd be free to use muscle cars whenever they fit the regulations.

The bigger clubs such as SNAIL use time trials to check the speed of drivers then assign them to different divisions so that they are racing against people of similar ability. The fastest division of SNAIL contains people of GT Academy standard - i.e. the fastest on the planet!

You don't need to be fast to enjoy racing online - provided you find a group of clean, respectful drivers you will have a great time. Try SNAIL which is a USA based club or if you are looking for something less formal the Spinning Arrows as suggested by S_Bridge is a great club.

It is unlikely that the times of my series would be suitable because I am in the UK. We used to have racers from the USA, but unfortunately because of Network instability at peak times we had to stop racing on Sundays and switch to Wednesdays and Fridays from 20:30-21:30 BST.

Most clubs or race series will be glad to have you, provided you are a clean driver - most are continually recruiting to fill the slots of people who drop out because of work and other commitments - I suggest you look first for ones which welcome beginners and try a few out until you find the right series for you.
